Amtrak California Zephyr Leaves People Behind At Glenwood Springs

Title:
Amtrak California Zephyr Leaves People Behind At Glenwood Springs

Description:
SEPTEMBER 30, 2006. This is a better quality video than one I posted last year. When the conductor says don't leave the platform, DON'T LEAVE THE PLATFORM. But people never listen. The couple left behind had to take a taxi to the next station at Grand Junction. They were very angry. They were even angrier that the train arrived at Emeryville (San Francisco) seven hours late. They figured as the long as the train was going to be late anyway, another minute or two to accomodate them wouldn't hurt anybody. Now they know it doesn't work that way. ***YOUTUBE AND GOOGLE CENSOR VIDEOS - SAVE THE FREE INTERNET - FIGHT INTERNET2***

AMTRAK #6, the eastbound California Zephyr stops at the classic D&RG depot in Glenwood Springs, CO. A bonus that day: bringing up the rear are two private cars, a lightweight Pullman and an open platform observation car. Made my day!! The opening shot of Glenwood Springs and the depot was made from the Gondola operated by the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park.

Amtrak California Zephyr in Nevada
OCTOBER 1, 2006: Traveling through Nevada enroute to San Francisco from Chicago. When you see how slowly the train was crawling through Nevada, you won't be surprised to learn it was seven hours late arriving at Emeryville (San Francisco). Elko should have been a middle-of-the-night stop and Reno should have been an early morning stop. The train arrived in Elko at around sunrise and late afternoon in Reno. This was the last time I traveled in Coach aboard Amtrak. Now I spend the extra several ...

Amtrak CZs 5 & 6 meet at Range, CO - May 1999
The Colorado River corridor provides a beautiful backdrop for the railfan. You will see both California Zephyrs pass each other daily on the Glenwood Springs Sub. Range, CO is a siding where many of these meets occur. The footage was shot over two days in May, 1999. I spliced it together to give the illusion of the same day's occurrence. Interior & exterior scenes included
Amtrak California Zephyr Ride, 10/12/08 Part 2.
Fall break is over and now I ride Westbound California Zephyr 5 back to Galesburg depot where I will have a friend lift me back to Monmouth College. Part 2 of this trip covers the BNSF Mendota Subdivision from Aurora, IL. to Galesburg, IL. I sit in the lower level of the Sightseer Lounge during most of this trip with an occasional visit to the coach and upper level of the Sightseer. P42DC #79 P42DC #116 (c) 9th Street Productions
