James Watt Steam Engine
This is the old James watt steam engine that is out at Cedar Valley Engine Club. It was made in 1799. I also think i am not sure correct me if i am wrong. They might be trying to get it running but i don't know for sure. The sound in the back ground is the Nordberg compressor going

Kew Bridge Beam Engine Boulton & Watt 1820
This is a view of the valve gear that controls the engine's operation. The various levers control the admission of steam, its path through the engine, and the opening of the condenser valve. Sorry about the wobbly bit, there was a crowd and people were squeezing past!
Crossness Engines. Prince Consort Beam Engine
Worlds largest rotative beam pumping engine. Built in 1865 by the James Watt Co. Part of Joseph Bazelgettes intercepting sewer system of 1865, Crossness pumping station in SE London houses 4 such engines only one of which is restored and running. At the start of the film you see a small "baring" engine, used to position the large beam engine prior to starting. Lerebours et Secretan Antique Beam Steam Engine Model
This mid 19th century antique steam engine model is based on the more efficient James Watt design. It was built by one of the finer scientific instrument makers "Lerebours et Secretan" of Paris. The company was founded in the later half of the 1700s. Napoleon owned a telescope made by them. This model has glass cylinders for demonstration purposes. The flywheel is 21 ¾" in diameter and the whole model weighs 125 pounds.
