The Historic 1891 Sorg Opera House in Middletown Ohio
This is my tribute to this Beautiful Theatre that sits on Main St in Middletown Ohio. The theatre is a fine example of Beaux Arts decoration. The theatre has 2 balconies but the top has been closed for 60 years. It would be fantastic to see this theatre restored to it's 1891 beauty. Wesleyan Steel Band Performance May 2009
The Wesleyan Steel Band performed a concert May 9 behind Usdan University Center. The concert featured classic calypsos and steel band pieces as well as newer material. In addition to performing on steel band instruments, the students study historical and cultural context of the ensemble.
The M&H Ride the Rails for Cancer Days
The Middletown & Hummelstown Railroad ( better known as the Milk & Honey Line ) along with The Conrail Historical Society hosted a "Ride the Rails for Cancer Days" June 13,14 with proceeds going to foks with cancer. We had a nice turn out for the event and they got to ride in one of two cabooses. Here the train is seen leaving Middletown. Look at all those foamers all over the train!
