Railfanning BNSF's Beardstown Sub 8-14-09 "Marion Turn" Part 1
Title:
Railfanning BNSF's Beardstown Sub 8-14-09 "Marion Turn" Part 1
Description:
Well on August 14,09 I caught all the trains that ran, only 3 but thats a Busy day on the Beardstown Sub. The Local now runs on this schedule, Centralia - Paducah Monday Paducah - Centralia Tuesday Centralia - Paducah Wednesday Paducah - Centralia Thursday Centralia - Marion - Centralia Friday aka " The Marion Turn" This new schedule is due to the Governments Hours of Service law, This messes with ever assigned regular job in the country. (Unless they dont work every day) Clip #1- Tresspassers climb on top of Rail Cars awaiting pick up as the local's K5HLL blows for Skyline Dr. That makes them move a little faster.... I just had to laugh at that.. Clip #2- The BNSF 5787 pulls down a Setout of 2 SIRX Covered hoppers. Alot of power for a 3 Car local....( They setout one at Marion) Clip #3 The Power pulls out of the setout track and shoves back up the ladder, The brakemen puts the EOT on the lead unit as the Conductor lines back the Mainline switch to give back a Track Authority. Clip #4 The 5787 couples onto its 4 Car NB train, The Engineer Swaps ends and the Conductor gives back the Authority to Dispatcher JNB.... Also Notice how she says she has trains leaving Cypress..It would be 30 minutes before the first got to Marion. Clip #5 After waiting for a Safety meeting in Ft. Worth Tx. to be completed the BNSF 549 pulls the entire train out of the CORE (aka CO&E RR) Clip #6 The train finally departs with one B40-8W online, 45 Minutes after it arrived in Marion.
