Getting around a fallen log on the trail was quite an adventure! JP Tyson driving his front loader with post hole auger takes a detour through the riverine flora. Many of the early Tarzan movies were filmed at this park, and you can see why! Silver River State Park is 5,000 acres just east of Ocala and west of the Ocala National Forest. The horse trails being completed this fall are on the north end of the park and accessible off Highway 40. Members of the Altoona Trail Riders, Sun Country Trailblazers, Friends of Silver River State Park, Park Manager Bob Lamont and Ranger Mickey Summers spent a morning on August 15 installing marker posts which are color coded to the various trails.

Walking the grounds at the beautiful Silver Glen Springs near Ocala, Florida. The weather that day, January 17th, 2009, was fairly mild-- a cool 65 degrees, but tropical compared to the deep freeze much of the rest of the US was experiencing. Bahia Honda State Park, Florida Keys
Bahia Honda is an island in the lower Florida Keys. US 1 crosses the key at approximately mile markers 36-38.5, between Ohio Key and Spanish Harbor Key 12 miles (19 km) west of Marathon, close to the west end of the Seven Mile Bridge. The island is virtually uninhabited, being home to 524-acre (2.1 km²) Bahia Honda State Park. Founded in 1961, the park occupies most of the island. The channel at the island's west end is one of the deepest natural channels in the Florida Keys.
