 | The Neo-Futurists Chicago's Neo-Futurists are a collective of writer/performers who create postmodern theater that is "a fusion of sport, poetry, and living-newspaper." This experimental theater company has been performing their signature show Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind since 1988, making it the longest running show in Chicago today. Too Much Light..., offering a constantly-changing "menu," is an effort to perform 30 plays in 60 minutes. With a rotating cast of ensemble members, these artists claim the unifying element of their plays is that they are offered from personal experience and thusly, a place of absolute honesty. All shows are typically performed weekend evenings at The Neo-Futurarium on Chicago's North Side, with the price of admission always $7 +$1 times the roll of a single six-sided die. On October 18 2007, the Neo-Futurists performed Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind: The Poetry Plays at The Poetry Center of Chicago, melding their high-energy show with quiet poetics to transcendent effect. |

A postmodern production that uses the human body as text, Crossing Boundaries investigates the representation and construction of identities of Third -World-Southeast-Asian-artists in the global context. The production features Chenda Tith and Nam Narim of Cambodia, Rudy de Luna of Malysia, Thanapol Virulhakol of Thailand, Ernests Hojilla of the Philippines, Bernard Lee Ka Hong and Jermeiah Lee Kai Han of Singapore. The production was staged at the ARKO Experimental Theatre in Seoul City. |
