Front window view of BR Standard Class 2MT 2-6-0, No. 78019, working hard from Leicester North to Rothley, with load 6 & a dead Class 20 on the rear, on the Great Central Railway.

An unusual angle from a location that I have not used since 2004. 78019 leaves Rothley with the dining train on the single track section. After a hold up behind two buses (it just wasn't my day!) I just arrived at the location as she pulled in which made setting up a little fraught.

Standard 2 78019 heads towards the A6 bridge with the dining train. We begin with a wake-up call for the railway cat which had been sitting nonchalantly on the track in the sunshine. It was reluctant to move even as the train approached. Staring through the viewfinder, which gives an 87% view, I saw nothing of the cat's escape! Bl**dy animals!

A few clips of 78019 on the GCR's diesel day on the 10/01/09. The first clip, also shows D5401 and D6535 ticking over on the right hand side - while they tried to sort the points out! A couple of quick clips of 78019 getting steamed up departing Loughborough, on two services, and one from a passing service as 78019 blasts away from Loughborough. Some good shots were missed, it was that cold the camera batteries played up!!

We leave Rothley and head to Quorn I don't film the whole section between Rothley and Quorn as it is raining

BR Standard 2 Mogul No.78019 runs into Quorn with one of the last runs in action of the LNER TPO set. It's unlikely, but I do hope they restore it to working condition eventually.

A considerable amount of work has been undertaken by the AT&T team in the area around Swithland in recent weeks. Here 78019 has restarted the lunch train after allowing negligible time to serve the soup course and heads past Swithland sidings towards Rothley. If I had used my main microphone you would hear the sounds of smashing crockery, the splashes of boiling liquids and the blood curdling screams of scalded passengers

Standard 2MT 2-6-0 No.78019 rumbles past with classic low speed clank and pleasing 'stack-talk' as our American counterparts call it on an up stopper for Leicester with the RVP-restored Beavertail Observation Car on the end- can't wait to see the other one restored to LNER condition!

Sunday 27th: a second attempt to capture the double headed combination of local Standard 2 78019 and visiting 4F 0-6-0 44422 after a poor run the day before.

Filmed running around a set at Holt station in readyness to run tender first back to Sherrngham station. One of a number of locos that had been loaned to the railway for their mega steam gala to mark 50 years since the closure of the majority of the Midland & Great Northern Joint Railway system.

Going away shot at Loghborough as 78019approaches the station from the South. Train consist is Loose coupled wagons.
