25th April 2009 was the first time since 1965 the LMS 8F, number 8624, run under own steam. On 23rd May 3009, the 48624 Society's 8F locomotive entered revenue earning service for the first time in 44 years after a 28 year restoration project. The first train of the day was for the members and dedicated volunteers who have worked hard to get 8624 running again. This was our Luscombe 8F (Second to Last Luscombe Built). Here my father and I are taking it around the pattern. This was our first flight in the plane, we had just purchased it. We later restored it and changed its color to blue instead of red.

My Dublo 'Bristol Castle' and my Stanier 8F heavy freight working together on my layout. Whilst travelling up to West Yorkshire I came across Peak Rail's newly restored and resplendent in LMS Crimson Lake Livery 8F 8624. The loco was on trial in preparation for the line's May Bank Holiday Gala on the 23-25th May 2009. The loco was withdrawn in 1965 purchased from Woodhams, Barry in 1981 and steamed this month for the first time in nearly 44 years. All filming was done without a tripod so please excuse any shaking, but please enjoy....Bob
