Akron/Family really represented at our second LOLA fest ever. www.lolafest.com I just finished an extra killer shift at the bookshop and so I spologize for the shaky camera, but we are unique in that we are a rather rock n' roll bookshop (by that I mean we do not sit down most of the time, we are always active with a myriad things)and I was also standing up on a bench by the soundbooth so I could get a better view over the heads of the crowd and I don't have a tripod yet (saving up) and ...

A lot of the local artsy/rock crowd that came out in droves to LOLA fest said they were proud to say they were from London that weekend. Our tiny town is experiencing a creative growth spurt and we'd like to keep it growing. LOLA showed that it is possible. To not only have local artists but also to have out-of-towners made us all feel more connected to the greater artistic scenes out there. And Akron/Family was part of that, so thank you to them and all of the other folks who came from away ...

A short clip from Akron/Family's set at the Hillside Festival in Guelph, Ontario. They are by far one of the best live bands I've ever seen! I wish that I would have taken more video, but I was too busy dancing - these guys rock live! This clip cuts off when this old guy jumped up on stage and wanted to crowd surf.
