Latin Escapade with George Shearing- Jazz, Cuba, Habana

Anglo Amalgamated, British European Airways and the George Shearing Quintet would like to welcome you aboard this Vickers Viscount return flight from London to Havana, Cuba....in about 1958. Song: 'Cuban Love Song' Album Sleeve Note: Music that suggests the darkest corner of a smoky bar... the sweet wild mood of a Latin Escapade. For aficionados of Latin music, George Shearing plays these tropical tempos with a romantic touch all his own. He has long been a master of jazz with a Latin beat, and now, for the first time in a complete album, this special mastery finds fine, full expression. Backed by the colourful sounds of maracas, timbale, claves, and conga drums, Shearing's deft piano and his famed quintet make music that is sultry indeed; it will lure even the shyest dancer to the floor, and thoroughly delight the listener who does not choose to dance.

EDGAR WALLACE MYSTERIES: MARRIAGE OF CONVENIENCE (1960)

EDGAR WALLACE MYSTERIES was a series of 47 second features produced at south London's Merton Park Studios for Anglo-Amalgamated between 1960-65. These were lated edited for TV in the U.S. as EDGAR WALLACE MYSTERY THEATRE. Rather hard to find now these really are great fun with a host of familiar British faces. The wonderful theme tune 'Man of Mystery' was a hit for THE SHADOWS. BTW: I collect rare films & TV. If you're interested in exchanging material please contact me at mr.rose@ntlworld.com.
