Group f/64 was a group of photographers espousing a common philosophy: promoted a style of sharply detailed, purist photography. The group, formed in 1932, constituted a revolt against the soft-focused, academic photography that was then prevalent among artists. The name of the group is taken from a setting of a camera diaphragm aperture that gives particularly good resolution and depth of field. This is called "Ode to Ansel" for Ansel Adams captured some of the most stunning Black and Whites while he lived and worked in California. During our trip to California I visited many of the sites frequented by Ansel and Edward Weston. Up and down the coast; sites like Big Sur, Carmel, Sequoia National Park, Kings Canyon, and Yosemite National Park. California is very diverse landscape.
