Blow Up - Michelangelo Antonioni (Original Trailer)

Blow-up (1966) Director:Michelangelo Antonioni Writers:Michelangelo Antonioni (story) and Julio Cortázar(short story) Release Date:18 December 1966 (USA) Brief Description: A mod London photographer believes that he has photographed a murder. Julio Cortázar is an argentinian writer, of an incredible style, who made "Las babas del diablo", from where the story was taken. In this Film also The Yardbirds perform Stroll on, a stylish raging Mod song, a permited version of "Train Kept A-Rollin". Originally, The Who were approached, but they declined, and then The In-Crowd had been planned but they were unable to attend the filming. The Yardbirds filled in at short notice, and the guitar that Beck smashes at the end of their set is a replica of Steve Howe's instrument. Antonioni instructed Beck to smash his guitar in emulation of The Who's Pete Townshend In 1967 antonioni won the Golden Palm in Cannes for this film, and also the Critic's Award in 1968 for Best Foreign Film. Zabriskie Point - Exploding Stuff

The final scene of Michelangelo Antonioni's 1970 feature "Zabriskie Point". Music by Pink Floyd. I know there are already 2 versions of this on here, but both have a pretty crappy quality, so here's a proper one.

For more clips like this, and a most enjoyable guide to pop culture, visit the blog for the NYC cult cable-access show Media Funhouse, located here: www.mediafunhouse.blogspot.com Couldn't resist posting this a few days after the world lost two of its great cineastes, Ingmar Bergman and Michelangelo Antonioni. In an interview conducted in 2002, Bergman brought up Antonioni when speaking about the new films he was seeing in the local cinema on Faro, the island he lived on. 52 Spaces (Antonioni)

Commissioned by The British School at Rome for film director Michelangelo Antonioni's 90th birthday in 2002, 52 Spaces uses sounds and elements of The Eclipse (1962) to create a soundtrack of an image of a city suspended in time, anonymous and surreal.
