This video is a walk through of a General Motors EMD BL2 diesel locomotive. This unit was purchased new for the Bangor and Aroostook Railroad back in 1949 and used until the early 1980's. It was one of 59, and only one of a handful still in existence. Unit 557 was later named "American Railfan" and used for various fan trip trains. This is a video I took back around 1993 using a VHS-C Camcorder...probably mid-summer. It is a Bangor and Aroostook train headed North out of Searsport. The location is about 2.3 miles down the Back Winterport Road in Hampden along a stretch of gravel pit crossings.
