Axon Racing: Initial setup
This video is on how to setup the axon racing anti gravity razorback racer. it involves receiver installation, zeroing your servo with the trims and lifting the horn, programming the esc, installing the lipo, testing the unit, initial turn on This is video 1 of lipo university where you will learn how to dispose of a lipo, shop for one versus nimh, what the capacity mah c value is, how to charge it, how to discharge it, temps temperature and other important facts like weight gearing brushless bl brushed nitro clutch bell cb pinion spur wheels and ice duratrax charger etc This will then cause you to run your engine rich. Why rich? More air for the power will leave it running lean. Nitro engines rev high to begin with. This will suck more gas through the engine to compensate for the increased air and thus causing more wear, a higher rev, increased costs in replacement sleeves and pistons, and a very burned out engine. The other interesting conclusion is the added 15 to 30% (ball park) more HP select fuel and glow plugs prior to break in. Information that this contains his how to troubleshoot and break in the kit based off of the glow plug, how much oil is good in fuel, and what nitro percent is good for the fuel. This is a ten video rc nitro break in series. The series is designed on how to guide the novice to experienced racing pro or basher on how to break in a nitro rc properly. I will teach the traxxas, new school, and my own method which is a combination of the other two. I will show the user how to prime a nitro rc engine, start the engine using a bump start box, ex starter, roto start, pull start and tiger drive devices. Then, after break in, I will go over nitro engine tuning theory and then show the tuning actally done. Axon Television Network
From Oct 1992- March 1995, Kirk Kimerer and Otto Khera and a bunch of great people (incl. Mark Lacey, GDesign, Belief Prods) pitched a 24/7 short film/video cable network relying on user-generated content. Here's the demo reel (1994). No funding ... ouch! |

Axon Ax 100 Guitar-to-Midi Converter

Toccata in D minor(J.S Bach)-Ketil Strand-AXON guitar synth
This is the "Toccata" part of the great J.S.Bach organ composition "Toccata and Fugue in D minor". The Fugue part is far more intricate, so I left that out for now, but I'm hoping to make a full version later, including the Fugue. I used to play this Toccata on electric guitar over 20 years ago, but hadn't been playing it for a long time. But when my daughter heard me noodling around with the opening theme on my AXON guitar synth with the "Church Organ" preset, she suggested I should record a video for this. Thanks for the idea, Synne! I've heard many versions of this piece on electric guitar, unfortunately some of these don't treat Bach's masterpiece very well.. I wanted to do justice to the great composer and stay as true to the original as possible, this piece is marvellously written and there's no reason to change anything. Most of the guitarists I've heard playing this (including myself before), have fallen into temptation of using a lot of distortion which may sound good on the single-note parts, but makes the chords and harmonies sound muddy and undefined. With the guitar synth, all the chord and harmony details shine through. Yeah, I know this isn't exactly the best organ sound on the planet (real church organ purists should maybe stay away..), but I hope you can live with that. And I guess this also can be an interesting demo of my "Terratec Producer Axon AX100mkII Guitar to Midi Controller". It tracks quite well, but like all guitar synths you have to play VERY accurately to avoid accidental "glitches". The guitar I'm using here is a bit special; It's an old Roland (!) G505 synth controller guitar. (built for Roland by Ibanez, I think; it's quite similar to the old Ibanez "Blazer" model). It actually has a built-in hexaphonic guitar synth pickup which can be used to control Roland's old GR series analog guitar synths. But this was made before Midi became standard, and is not compatible with today's guitar synth systems, so I've mounted a new GK-3 pickup on it next to the old one. I'm also using a few effects in addition to the AXON; a Boss PS-5 Harmonizer for adding an octave down on some parts, and for the 6th down harmony on 1:58-2:13 (I'm using an expression pedal to change the pitch). And I used some T.C. Chorus, Boss RV-5 Reverb, and a capo.. All recorded in one take with Cubase (no editing; WYSIWYH..) Hope you enjoy it! www.ketilstrand.com mp3 version: www.geocities.com/ketilstrand/lydklipp |

Ben Axon 2008 Senior Season
Ben has another break out year running, catching, and breaking a whole bunch of tackles. Ben's stint at Manatee consisted of a partial varsity season as a freshman, being an all around talent as a sophmore, and a key starter as a junior and senior. Great job Ben! |

(Toccata and) Fugue in Dm (Bach), part II:Fugue - Ketil Strand-electric guitar/Axon guitar synth
Finally, here's the Fugue part as a follow-up to my previous Toccata version played on Axon AX100 guitar synth. (I've also added a new Toccata version without the Axon, but with the Roland GR-100 instead). In my first version of Toccata I used only the church organ sound from my Axon, but on the Fugue I've mixed the Axon sound with my good old Roland GR-100, one of Roland's analog "guitar synth" units from the early 80's. It doesn't sound much like a synth, though, it's basically a "hexaphonic fuzz".. Both sounds were recorded simultaneously and mixed in Cubase, to make it sound like a "duet" for organ and guitar, and you can see me playing both tracks on the split screen. I also added a third track on a few small sections where I found my piano sheet music version lacked something compared to the original organ version. (the piano version uses of course only two staffs/voices, the original organ version has three; left and right hand plus feet). Of all my You tube videos, this has been my biggest challenge so far. It's not the easiest piece of music to play on a guitar, so it took quite a few hours to learn, reading both treble and bass clefs from the sheet music.. Hope you enjoy it! Additional pedals used: Electro-Harmonix Micro Pog, Boss DD-6 dig.delay, Boss RV-5 dig. reverb, Palmer PDI-09 The Junction guitar DI box. www.ketilstrand.com |

ode to summer - a looped improvisation (axon ax100 & EHX 2880 looper)
this is my first chance to record something with terratec's axon ax100 mkII (the device which is making my guitar sound like a bass and vibes), which i received just last week. takes a lot of tweaking to the settings and playing style to keep everything clean. tracking is pretty good, though i'm tempted to start using a thumb pick to improve tracking on the bass notes. i play guiro, pandeiro, and triangle in the beginning, mimicking the rhythm from Tom Zé's baião, "xique xique". then adding (simultaneously) bass and vibes à la "all blues" (in 4/4). everything is looped with the electro-harmonix 2880 super multi-track looper. i had some pedal (or foot) malfunctions towards the end, there. =P the guitar is a giambattista G4 with RMC pickups. |
