Today I had the incredible experience of visiting the International Crane Foundation in Baraboo WI with my parents. There I was able to observe one-week old Flapper with his/her parents 11 year old Omega (Daddy) and 8 year old Seurat (Mommy.) Daddy is foraging the water for food, then takes it to Flapper for lunch. The foundation is part of an effort to bring back the whooping crane population. In 1941 the population was down to 21 birds.
