This trail is located in Calistoga, California. It is an old mining road that was used over and over by many wagons. In fact, it was used so much that the basalt flow has grooves carved up to 6" deep in some places by the steel wrap around the wagon wheels. This is a short film we did for Solage Calistoga Luxury Eco-friendly Resort and Spa last June in wine country, California. Spa Solage was voted the #2 Spa in the US by Travel & Leisure Magazine. The Amgen Tour of California sped through the Napa Valley and Calistoga on the way to Santa Rosa on Sunday, February 15, 2009. Since we were hot tubbing and wine tasting in Calistoga that weekend, we were fortunate to have a front row seat (so to speak). The one common comment I receive about this winery from all of my clients. "We thought the Winery is beautiful, the Architecture is amazing, but the wine is average at best". Maybe the wine will improve as the vines mature.
