This is a video showing how the shunting is done to get train in and out of West Coast Railway depot at Carnforth. Video was filmed on 24th May 2009. 1st train used is 47798+47786 with 5Z48 1258d Doncaster West Yard to Carnforth WCR. Train has to be split, then 47798 takes the 1st portion into the depot. After leaving stock in depot, the class 47 then leaves the depot to get the 2nd portion. Finally after the 2nd portion is in the depot, the class 47 departs the depot to get the last coach ...

This is a video a steam locomotive GWR Castle Class 4-6-0 no 5043 'Earl of Mount Edgcumbe' arriving at Carnforth West Coast Railway (WCR) depot. The loco had left its train in Carnforth Down & Up Goods Line, then as this video shows, arriving at WCR depot for Coal and water. For the record, the train was 1Z80 0708d Tyseley Warwick Rd to Carlisle. The steam loco was attached to the train at Crewe for its attack of the 1 in 75 climb up to Shap summit. Video filmed on Saturday 20th June 2009....
