Chehalis, WA. August 24, 2002. Northbound Interstate 5 at mile marker 79. A semi being driven at speeds to fast for traffic conditions slammed into a Chevrolet pickup on the overpass. The three female occupants were killed. The semi continued hitting six other vehicles before veering off the freeway and rolling down the embankment coming to rest on it's top. The other injured parties were non life threatening. This story did air on CNN that weekend.

Cowlitz, Chehalis & Cascade #15 (2-8-2) was built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1916. It was restored to service at the shops of the Mt. Rainier Scenic Railroad in the late 1980's for use on the Chehalis-Centralia Railroad Association line in Chehalis, WA.
