Cuentos Chinos (Chinese Stories) is an instalación developed for a space of around 60 m2. It is inspired by the traditional Chinese Shadow Theatre. In this instalation the "actors" are cheap chinese products which were bought in the popular "all for one Euro" stores. The products are connected with around 110 motors, solenoids, fans etc and distributed over 18 small theaters with 36x40 cm base. My shadow theatre

Monkey King at Spider Cave tells the adventures of our hero Monkey King as he faithfully protects a Chinese Monk on his journey to India to retrieve sacred Buddhist texts. The monk gets himself into danger when he sets out on his own to beg for food at a strange house in the mountains. The film documents the live shadow theatre production of this richly visual tale, based on an episode from the Chinese masterpiece, Journey to the West.
