1917 Curtiss Jenny Biplane - Engine Run up at Evergreen

Here is an original/restored 1917 Curtiss Jenny Biplane including the original Curtiss OX-5 90hp V8 Water Cooled engine during an engine run up. Pretty cool to see the exposed rocker arms. Jenny's were built as WWI trainers. This plane was owned by the Localy Famous Wally Olson. Wally was the founder of the Evergreen Airport in Evergreen WA. He died in 1997. Airport closed in 2006 by the city, What a shame! We all lost a lot of aviation history!

Curtiss P-36 (Mohawk) Hawk during WW2

The Curtiss P-36 Hawk, also known as Curtiss Hawk Model 75, was a US-built fighter aircraft of the 1930s. A contemporary of the Hawker Hurricane and Messerschmitt Bf 109, it was one of the first fighters of the new generation sleek monoplanes with extensive use of metal in construction and powerful piston engines. Obsolete at the onset of World War II and best known as the predecessor of the Curtiss P-40, the P-36 saw only limited combat with the United States Army Air Forces but was ...

Colonel Jade Curtiss aka Jade the Necromancer

Jade Curtiss is one of my all-time favorite video game characters. He's smart, funny, sarcastic, and very sexy. He's the right-hand man of Peony the 9th, emperor of the Malkuth empire and a childhood friend. Jade always smiles, which makes it hard for people to figure out what he's thinking.

Curtiss P-40 with the RAF, RNZAF and RAAF

Like it or not, the USAAF had only the P-40 available when it went to war. It rarely outperformed the fighters that it opposed, but it was one of the sturdiest fighters produced during World War II. Remembered as a "best second choice," innumerable pilots owe their lives to its rugged quality. The Curtiss P-40 was undoubtedly one of the most controversial fighters to serve in quantity during the Second World War. It was praised and abused, lauded and vilified, but the fact remains that, as ...

Curtiss-Wright XP-55 Ascender

The Curtiss-Wright XP-55 Ascender (Curtiss-Wright CW-24), was a 1940s United States prototype fighter aircraft built by Curtiss. Along with the XP-54 and XP-56, it resulted from United States Army Air Corps proposal R-40C issued on 27 November 1939 calling for unconventional aircraft designs. A highly unusual design for its time, it had a canard configuration, a rear mounted engine, swept wings and two vertical tails. Because of its pusher design, it was sarcastically referred to as the "Ass ...
