I hope you lived your life in the right way Envoy of Death gives you the answer Envoy of Death gives you (the passport) to heaven or hell Your soul will be weighed in a scale of a balance If your soul is lighter than a feather you will get to heaven But if it weighs moreyour soul will be lost forever So pray for your salvation, it's the only thing you can do He don't let you rest in your grave He'll give you eternal life or a nightmare in hell Which one shall be your final destination? I hope you lived your life in the right way Envoy of Death gives you the answer Envoy of Death gives you (the passport) to heaven or hell He don't let you rest in your grave He'll give you eternal life or a nightmare in hell Which one shall be your final destination? China Envoy Leaves Taiwan

ZHANG: A Chinese Communist Party official left Taiwan on Friday after a turbulent visit. The meetings produced landmark trade agreements but also sparked angry protests by thousands opposed to China's claim of sovereignty over the self-ruled island. STORY: Chen Yunlin, China's top negotiator on Taiwan affairs, completed the highest-level visit to the island by a communist leader since the end of the Chinese civil war in 1949. His visit, which included deals to open new trade and transit links and a brief meeting with President Ma Ying-jeou, eased official ties between two sides. Beijing has vowed to bring Taiwan under its rule, by force if necessary. But protests from thousands of anti-Chinese Communist Party demonstrators dogged Chen almost every step of his visit. Beijing's shift to charm diplomacy came after new China-friendly leadership took power on the island and a recent Taiwan investment in China of about $100 billion. Taiwan's main opposition Democratic Progressive Party, which backed the island's anti-CCP president from 2000 to 2008, organized a rowdy street demonstration on Thursday. As Ma met Chen he angered many by calling Ma "you" instead of "president" -- not recognizing him as head of state. At least 10,000 people filled streets, some throwing eggs and trying to break through police barriers. Analyst say protesters are estimated to represent at least a quarter of the population. Through much of the night, hundreds of riot police used batons and a water cannon to fend off groups of protesters who threw rocks, bottles and trash at them outside Chen's hotel. The protests fizzled out this morning.

Taiwanese Protest China Envoy Visit

Moving onto Taiwan, where pro-independence protesters sit in front of Taiwan's legislature to protest a visiting Chinese Communist Party official. He's in Taiwan to discuss details of improved cross-strait economic ties. STORY: Taiwan's main opposition party, concerned that Taiwan is getting too close to China, kicked off a three-day protest sit-in today. That's after more than 3,000 people sat in front of Taiwan's legislature on Monday evening protesting the arrival of China's top negotiator for cross-strait relations. The opposition, in power from 2000 to 2008, advocated independence from China and did not negotiate with Beijing. [Mrs. Liao, Protester]: "I think they should set rules to clearly define that Taiwan is Taiwan, and China is China, totally unrelated. We don't want to be ruled by them, if that happens people will stand up against them regardless of gender and profession." With heightened security in the city during the Chinese official's visit, protesters express concern their freedoms would be curtailed in favour of improved Taiwan-China relations. [Shiao-shun, Protestor]: "Only one official comes to visit, our freedom is already so much restricted, we cannot imagine what will happen next. Now they open up for Chinese credentials and Chinese investment while the two countries are still hostile, more than a thousand missiles are still aimed at us, how can we trust the government?." Chen Yunlin, the top Chinese negotiator who began China's first high-level visit to political rival Taiwan in 60 years will pursue agreements on direct flights, food safety and the economy despite protests against warming ties. Chen is the highest-level Chinese official to set foot on the island since the end of the Chinese civil war in 1949. Working groups from China and Taiwan tentatively agreed on Monday to sign agreements that would allow 108 direct flights per week between the two countries. Also on the table for Tuesday are new postal links and a process for quick notification and investigation of any contaminated food following Taiwan's concern over tainted dairy products from China.

US envoy: Expectations for Sino-US SED running high

US envoy: Expectations for Sino-US SED running high WATCH VIDEOSource: CCTV.com 06-14-2008 12:57 The fourth Sino-US Strategic Economic Dialogue is scheduled to take place next week in Annapolis, Maryland. A US envoy says expectations are running high for this event. At the beginning of a pre-SED press conference at the Treasury Department on Friday Morning, US special envoy for China and the Strategic Economic Dialogue, Alan Holmer, once again expressed the support of the US government to China in the country's post-earthquake reconstruction. Then the envoy offered words of welcome to the Chinese delegation led by Vice Premier Wang Qishan, which will arrive in the US on Monday. During the two-day meeting, a series of sessions will focus on various topics. The discussions will highlight five specific areas: financial and macro economic management, developing and protecting human capital, the benefits of trade and open markets, enhancing investment, and advancing joint opportunities for cooperation in energy and environment. As the talks get underway on Tuesday, one of the achievements of the previous dialogues, a first Chinese tourist group, arrives in Washington DC on Tuesday. Holmer highly praised the mechanism of the SED for the results the talks have achieved. Alan Holmer said, "First, SED has made progress in areas more broadly that would not have occurred without SED. Second, the SED has helped very much in terms of keeping our bilateral economic relationship on an even keel. Third, we have established new habits of cooperation between Chinese and US government officials." Holmer also emphasized that negotiation and discussion is the key to success. Alan Holmer said, "It' s tremendous important that put yourself in other's shoes, to try to see the world the way he or she does. That's what the SED really helps tp facilitate is the opportunity for us the have much better understanding of the perspectives -- for Americans we have better understanding of the Chinese perspectives, and for the Chinese officials to have a better understanding of American. That's the way you achieve agreements that will be long term withstand the rest of time." Editor:Zhang Ning
