Randolph Frederick Pausch (nacido el 23 de octubre de 1960, fallecido el 25 de julio de 2008) fue un profesor de informática, interacción hombre-máquina y de diseño en la Universidad Carnegie Mellon (CMU) en Pittsburgh, Pensilvania, Estados Unidos. Además fue un autor con alto número de ventas en sus libros, consiguiendo fama mundial por su trabajo "La Última Ponencia" discurso que dio el 18 de septiembre de 2007 en la Universidad de Carnegie Mellon. En agosto del 2006, a Pausch se le diagnosticó un cáncer de páncreas metastatizado. Él comenzó un tratamiento muy agresivo para el cáncer que incluía cirugía mayor y quimioterapia experimental; sin embargo, en agosto del 2007, le dijeron que el cáncer había metastatizado al hígado y al bazo, lo que significaba que era terminal. Él entonces comenzó una quimioterapia paliativa , intentando prolongar su vida todo lo que fuese posible. El 2 de mayo del 2008, un PET scan mostró que su cáncer se había extendido a sus pulmones, algunos ganglios linfáticos en el pecho y metástasis en el peritoneo y el retroperitoneo. From the Orange County Performing Arts Center, California 2004. Arthaus Musik pays homage to Britain's greatest choreographer on his 100th birthday! Widely considered as one of the last century's most prolific and important choreographers, Frederick Ashton brought an unmistakably lyric style to British ballet. The Dream was Ashton's contribution towards Britain's celebration of the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's birth. In it, he condenses the plot of A Midsummer Night's Dream to the forest scenes only, focusing on the fairy kingdom of Oberon and Titania and the lovers and rustics who stumble into it one moonlit, magical night. The exquisitely calibrated choreography bears Ashton's customary hallmark of precision, lightness and fluency and demonstrates his gift for storytelling. The one-act work, recorded live at the Orange County Performing Arts Centre, California, was staged by Anthony Dowell and Christopher Carr, produced by five-time Emmy Award winner Judy Kinberg and directed by Matthew Diamond - who took a Directors Guild of America Best Director Award for Dance in America's From Broadway.
