These are the highlights of the June 1st City Council meeting discussing the following issue.....The City of Friendswood is suing its citizens so they can bypass the City Charter and take out an $11 million bond without the vote of the citizens. The lawsuit also asks the judge to exempt the City from following state law so they can purchase land with the Certificate of Obligation in another County. Day 2 after Hurricane Ike hit the Houston Galveston Area. Shots include the Friendswood/Clear Lake area and some of the damage. Power is out and most of the shots are from my car, so, please excuse how shaky they are. Several signs and posts have been uprooted, most traffic lights have some damage, Apartments have lost some walls, many large trees have been uprooted. Take this as a note, do not try to ride out a hurricane as I did, leave town. It is not worth it.

October 15 & 16, 2006 Friendswood Texas recieved 8 inches of rain in 48 hours. The streets flooded and so did a few houses. This video shows my kids and the neighbor kids playing in the flooded street. I took the video from my front porch.

Friendswood Fillies Dance team, Friendswood Texas, presents "Grease" as performed by their dance team consisting of a 6 year old girl and her 7 year old brother. This performance won "Best Ensemble" for their age group in the Regional competition in Clute, Texas on December 13, 2008. The June 11th Friendswood , TX City Council's Town Hall meeting where Councilmen Michael Barker ranted about the opposition they are receiving in response to purchasing park land in Alvin, TX and issuing certificates of obligation without voter approval to fund municipal projects. I didn't realize that we we're not allowed to voice our opinions on how our government does business and spends our money. Hmm...I thought we had that right. I guess I'll need to re-read the US Constitution....
