Dive Travel The Bay Islands Roatan, Utila and Guanaja
GRK-DVD-BAY - Join us on this Dive Travel adventure series as we explore the western Caribbean Bay islands 40 miles off the northeast coast of Honduras. The three main inhabited islands include Roatan, Utila and Guanaja, all part of the second largest coral reef in the world and one of Honduras hottest attractions. Beneath the clear turquoise waters is a trove of unbelievable riches: vibrant coral, massive sponges, multicolored fish and large pelagic species, like manta rays, sea turtles, and whale sharks. Surrounded by translucent waters, painted in bold strokes of emerald greens and deep azure blue, these islands are a diver's paradise, while surrounded by jungle, luxurious foliage and exotic flowers. Roatans history comes alive with tales of pirates. As many as 5,000 pirates and buccaneers used the islands as a base for attacking Spanish galleons laden with precious metals, woods and other new world bounty. |

Guanaja, Bay Island, Honduras.Part II
Located at latitude 16.29 N and longitude 85.54 W, Guanaja is a very unique island. It is the tallest of the Bay Islands, and is mostly covered by the Caribbean pine, to the point that Columbus originally named it Pine Island. An island for adventurous souls looking for someplace new. Guanaja is a tropical island getaway for those who want to travel "off the beaten path" and experience one of the last remaining unspoiled islands in the Caribbean. A wonderful climate, cool breezes, white sand beaches and crystal clear waters all just waiting for you to enjoy. |

Sailing the Caribbean
"Nicole and I made a film about the sailing adventure of Marianne and Gaétan. 15 days aboard the sailboat Alegria 11, in the Bay Islands, in Honduras. All we needed to make a film on their new life: Sailing around the world on a superb 49 foot aluminium hull cutter, leaving their surroundings, the family, the friends and all significant persons. Leaving all that is familiar, all their references in the smallest detail. The shots were taken in and around the islands of Roatan, Guanaja, Los Cochinos, West-End, Utila, and eventually, La Ceiba on the continent. A 56 mts documentary, sailing in the Garifuna Land and visiting their marvellous inhabitants. A film by Louis Charbonneau (Production du Roi-Soleil), music by Clément Lévesque.
