Trying to keep up with this developing HP beast was quite difficult as it was moving along at quite a speed. A huge meso developed and also what even briefly looked like a funnel cloud became visible at one stage not to mention the many CG's it was producing! This storm contained winds over 90km/h, golf ball sized hail, blowing dust and flash flooding afterwards. It also uprooted some very big trees and left thousands of people without power.

Another day of supercells in SE QLD Australia as this storm began to turn HP and drift north. Conditions today were volatile resulting from very cold upper temps combined with incredible wind shear which had veering with height. This storm would go on to produce golf ball sized hail with drifts (and a lot of it).. winds over 90km/h at times and left thousands of people without power after the incredible amount of CG's it pumped out!

After seeing some high based storms up on the Darling Downs and Granite Belt..an isolated storm on the northern edge of the line detached and rapidly intensified into a supercell. As the storm intensified it began to produce a phenomenal amount of cloud to ground lightning strikes.. Harrisville looked like it was going to cop the worst yet again! The 3rd time this year in fact.. while there were also reports about half an hour later of a tornado associated with this storm....

This storm began to intensify rapidly at this point which is also visible half way through the vid with the grass fire on the right of screen being drawn in as inflow to the storm. Certainly another amazing meso which probably even bettered the one for me a month ago in the same general area. This storm produced golf ball sized hail.. destructive wind gusts over 90km/h and brought down large trees and powerlines and amazing cloud to ground lightning which left thousands without power....

This storm rapidly intensified into an enormous supercell which even had a reported tornado associated with it. I watched it come together on dusk but as night set in it became both too dark and dangerous to chase. I did manage to get smashed by the RFD tho'.
