Pink Floyd-Pigs (Three Different Ones) Pt.1

Copyright Wikipedia. David Gilmour - guitars, bass guitar, talk box Nick Mason - Drums, percussion (Cowbell) Roger Waters - lead vocals, rhythm guitar, tape effects Richard Wright - Hammond organ, ARP String Synthesizer, grand piano (glissando). pigs represent the people whom Roger Waters considers to be at the top of the social ladder, the ones with wealth and power; they also manipulate the rest of society and encourage them to be viciously competitive and cutthroat, so the pigs can remain powerful. Waters suggests that the pigs manipulate the dogs in the lines "Gotta admit, that I'm a little bit confused/Sometimes it seems to me, as if I'm just being used" in the song "Dogs." The first verse refers to no one in particular, but rather businessmen in general. Although some have said it refers to the then prime minister James Callaghan. The second verse indirectly refers to the opposition leader at that time, Margaret Thatcher, although her name or title is never mentioned. The lyrics' offensiveness to Thatcher is subtle, stating that she is "good fun with a hand gun;" better-defined obscenities are prevalent when it refers to her as a "bus-stop rat bag" and "fucked-up old hag". In the second verse, Waters gets a little more personal, but in more of a circuitous manner. Here he mentions the "bus stop rat bag" who "radiates cold shafts of broken glass" and is "hot stuff with a hat pin." Although unclear at the time, these references had to do with the up-and-coming political figure Margaret Thatcher, who was at that time a leading member of England's Conservative Party but eventually came into power as Britain's Prime Minister, thus making Waters' deepest fears and premonitions a reality. Apparently during this part of the song, some of the original words were, in fact, censored by the band or its management before the final mix was recorded for release. Halfway through the song, Gilmour uses a Heil talk box on the guitar solo to mimic the sound of pigs. This is the first use of a talk box by Pink Floyd. Lyrics: Big man, pig man, ha ha charade you are. You well heeled big wheel, ha ha charade you are. And when your hand is on your heart, You're nearly a good laugh, Almost a joker, With your head down in the pig bin, Saying "Keep on digging." Pig stain on your fat chin. What do you hope to find. When you're down in the pig mine. You're nearly a laugh, You're nearly a laugh But you're really a cry. Bus stop rat bag, ha ha charade you are. You fucked up old hag, ha ha charade you are. You radiate cold shafts of broken glass. You're nearly a good laugh, Almost worth a quick grin. You like the feel of steel, You're hot stuff with a hatpin, And good fun with a hand gun. You're nearly a laugh, You're nearly a laugh But you're really a cry.

Dallas: Angelica Hatpins Nicholas

Tom and Jerry-Puss n' Toots

Tom is playing with Jerry when someone delivers a cute lady cat for Mammy to take care of. Tom is smitten at first sight, and primps a bit. He offers a fish and a canary, but she's not interested. He then retrieves Jerry (filed under "M" in a filing cabinet), again proving unusually competent. He does several magic tricks with Jerry, producing him in a box of chocolates and Toots' bow, and finally tucking Jerry behind him. While trapped there, Jerry grabs a hat and uses the hat pin to even the score a bit. He runs away to a record changer, and gets Tom caught up in the machinery. With Tom thoroughly defeated (and the machine thoroughly broken), Jerry primps a bit himself, kisses Toots, and sashays into his hole.

Tom and Jerry-Filet Meow

The little goldfish cries for help as Tom tries to eat her; Jerry comes to the rescue with a hatpin. Tom armors himself in a trashcan and ends up getting thrown out. He tries draining the fishbowl from the bottom, so Jerry hooks his hose up to the sink and orders a shark from the pet shop.

Killer Rabbits Lose a Member

The Killer Rabbits found it as hard as any other band to lose a member. Here Roger Radio talks candidly and for the first time about letting Nick "Seaside" Rabbit go. Despite his innovative use of the wah wah pedal he became a rock casualty. Nick, we said, don't climb that cliff! Sorry, just my little joke. It's the emotion. You'll need a box of tissues handy to watch this.
