A diverted VRD231 from SFO on its way to JFK at SYR (Syracuse, NY). i was just complaining to my aunt on how this airport was mundane... i saw 3 jetBlue a/c, 2x Song 757s, a Delta 738, and an FDX A300 (N719FD), and this VA showed up after one of the jetBlue A320's got caught in JFK's ground delay program...

This is a wing view landing of a Delta Boeing 767-300ER landing in KSYR after a long 10 hour flight from Moscow, Russia (UUEE). We were supposed to land in KJFK but there were thunderstorms in KJFK and all planes in KJFK were delayed like 2 hours for weather to clear and all international flights from Europe coming into KJFK were diverted to KSYR including us. So we sat on the taxiway in KSYR for six hour waiting for the fuel truck, the new pilots to arrive, weather to clear up, and ...

N623JB arrives from Long Beach, CA on 17AUG07 around 5:35pm that was going to JFK. N623JB, N521JB (not shown), and N622VA were all caught in a ground delay program at JFK. N521JB was scheduled to land at SYR at 4:40pm as JBU72 from JFK and depart SYR as JBU75 at 5:15pm. That flight didnt leave until after 8pm at least. the other two left SYR as soon as they could, with N623JB leaving only 20min. after an unscheduled stop, and N622VA leaving only 45min after N623JB.

Heavy landing into Syracuse. Weather sucked and I landed kind of hard but didnt blow the tires so all is good I guess.

This was a Jetblue a320 landing in Syracuse that occured a bird strike just before touchdown during the flare. This is just the atc recording on KSYR tower approach. The runway was shut down for a little after the incedent.
