After Homewood we drove down to Wilmington to catch Amtrak #302. The scenery is fantastic here at this park, also, pretty good fishing from what I hear. Take a listen to the NPCU blasting the horn through down town Wilmington, it sounds so cool bouncing off the buildings and trees. Arriving for the first time at Wilmington Dam on the Kankakee River, Tome is impressed by the number of fishermen and by their being in the river, sees their fish when they hang it up for the day.

A 4X4 CHEVY SILVERADO PICK UP TRUCK WAS FOUND AT 5:30AM IN THE KANKAKEE RIVER AT SOUTH ISLAND PARK ABOUT 75 FEET OFF SHORE..AN INCREDIBLE JOB BY THE WILMINGTON FIRE DEPT & WILMINGTON ESDA TEAM'S SWIFT WATER RESCUE TEAM..THEY ALL BRAVED DANGEROUS CURRENTS TO RECOVER THE TRUCK FROM THE WATER.THEY GOT THE TRUCK OUT OF THE RIVER IN LESS THAN 1 HOUR!!

Mallard ducks play chicken on the ice flows on the Kankakee River in Wilmington, IL at South Island Park. It's a bit of the wait, but the last duck in the video is nuts and doesn't fly until he's going over the dam.

Quentin was having a blast tubin on the river on Labor Day. My mom was driving so she didn't drive as crazy as his dad! We had a blast tubing the whole weekend!!!!!

Another update for those that are curious. This was from last weekend, just haven't had a chance to upload. As you can see the water was free flowing and I suspect it is much like this now or will be again. No time to go down this weekend. The water is so high and moving so fast no birds were in the water here. This is in Wilminton, IL off of Route 66
