Early interpretation of Amapola, recorded by Lecuona Cuban Boys in early thirties, seems to me to be unbeatable in its "atmospheric" climate; my absolute favourite. Still not presented on YT. Polish 78 rpm Columbia pressing ca. 1937. In order to maintain all possible features and natural shape of the sound of the record, re-recording from the original 78rpm was made by means of the Shure78rpm Mono cartridge without any modification, correction or "mastering".

A blend of explosive items: the smooth voice of Josephine Baker, from St. Louis Missouri, USA ( but famous as singer from France) and the Conga Rhythm of Lecuona Cuban Boys. I ignore completely the meaning of "Blicoti" ; Josephine sings in french about the joyce of dance conga, cheating also in spanish with the "boys". What kind of images fits for a Conga ? Tennis female players ! I recently was in Marbella, Spain, so had the chance to assist the WTA female tennis tournament "Andalucia ...

Teehee, I think the audio is off from the video at times. Plus, as previously stated, my piano is very out of tune. I also realized that my camcorder is the suck at picking up sound, so all that combined with my suckiness + youtube's size limit... well you get it. But enjoy ^__^
