Carbon monoxide IS deadly and you'll never see it coming. For anyone getting into lampworking, I can't stress strongly enough how serious this issue is. About 3 weeks ago I was making pendants and everything was fine....until I noticed I couldn't see straight, I couldn't function normally. My motor skills were for crap! Everything happened slowly so I didn't notice it. I was at my torch gagging and didn't know why and didn't think anything of it either. By that point, I was already affected and common sense was no longer reliable. Luckily enough, I got hot and tired and decided to take a break and walk outside. It wasn't till I got outside that I realized I didn't know who I was, where I was or what happened. That is NOT something I want anyone else to ever experience so please, no matter what you do, DO NOT disregard safety!! I don't care how excited you may be to run your new torch or just make that one piece. DO NOT do it without the proper ventilation!!

Solar lamp, made of an old energy-save lamp, from which the electronics are burnt-out. Principle: blocking oscillator (already on my channel: video of the "mini voltage transformer") connected to a high voltage generator made from an old TV line transformer. The current in the collector circuit is reduced to the absolute minimum. After starting/igniting the lamp with a pulse-voltage, the lamp burns on the absolute minimum level of energy. The lamp can burn 4 days on one accumulator load. In 1-2 months I hope to upload a book in English about my schematics on YouTube (not all) on the website of lulu. Finally got it working, after trying, for ages! It has to get preheated, and hot enough to vapourise the kerosene, to burn as a very hot flame. This is done by burning meths in a tray under the burner. Then, once it's hot enough, pumping the kerosene into the burner, using a pump, to pump air into the fuel. The flame looks better at night, beacuse you can barely see it in day light. That's why I took the video in the dark. The blowlamp is a Swedish made Primus bought from a friend in Gore.
