This Red Lechwe (similar to a deer) jumped into the water and swam across a channel in the Okavango Delta.

Lechwe ewes use this incident to educate their young about the danger posed by such predators.

Black Lechwe is an antilope endemic to the Bangweulu marshes in northern Zambia. The Chikuni plains hold the majority of the 120,000 animals. In the video there are an estimated 30,000 animals visible, in a 180 degree shot of part of the plains

There are camps within the delta region that cater to these visitors. The delta provides a seasonal habitat to numerous different species. Among these are African elephants, the African Buffalo, the Hippopotamus, the Lechwe, the Topi, the Blue Wildebeest, the Giraffe, the Nile crocodile, the Lion, the Cheetah, the Leopard, hyenas, wild dogs, the Greater Kudu, the Sable Antelope, both the Black and the White Rhinoceros, the water monitor, zebras, the Warthog and then chacma baboon. The delta also includes over 400 species of birds, including the African Fish Eagle, the Crested Crane, and the Sacred Ibis.

Moremi Game Reserve is a National Park in Botswana. It rests on the western side of the Okavango Delta and was named after Chief Moremi of the BaTawana tribe. Moremi was designated as a Game Reserve and not a National Park since when it was designated, the BaSarwa or Bushmen that lived there were supposed to be allowed to stay in the reserve. Lioness in Moremi game reserve. In the 1960s, the government changed its mind and burned the Bushmen village and forced the villagers to move outside the park. They relocated on the other side of the Khwai River and named their new village Khwai. Within the village there is still a strong distrust towards the national government as there has been talk about moving the village once again. Moremi is a beautiful national park to visit. You can see lions, giraffe, leopards, caracals, elephants, cheetahs, buffalo, zebras, red lechwe, African wild dogs, wildebeest, impala, Kori Bustards, Hippos, Nile Crocodiles and a variety of smaller mammals and birds. 08.1998 VALPARD FILMS http://valpardfilms.free.fr/
