We visited Lisbon by rail from Cascais and found that Lisbon was a great city with shopping in their mostly mom & pop stores. There are a lot of Historical sites to see like; Monastery of Jeronimos, Monument to the Age of Discovery, St. George's Castle and the Presidential Palace. The 25th of April Bridge named after Portugal's Revolt on the 25th of April 1974

Lisbon has a population of 2.660.800 (2001), and the Lisbon Metropolitan Area in total has around 4.600.000 inhabitants (2001) concentrating in its area and sorroundings almost half of the portuguese population. Lisbon region is the wealthiest region in Portugal and it is well above the European Union's per capita GDP average....
