November 16, 2008 MIAA Division 1 Girls Soccer State Semifinal at Cawley Stadium in Lowell Acton-Boxboro and Weymouth were dead even through 80 minutes of regulation and 20 minutes of overtime... After each team took five penalty kicks, they were also even. After each team took three more kicks, A-Bs Martha Dane scored and Colonial goalie Jessi Wiggins made the save on Weymouths Jess Henney, allowing the Colonials to win the shootout 6-5 and the game, 1-0.

Five players from Notre Dame Academy, Weymouth High School and Norwell High School have advanced to the quarterfinals of the MIAA South Sectional Individual girls tennis tournament. They winners include the doubles teams of Meg Dempsey and Samantha Norton from Weymouth High School and Kathleen Colpoys and Amanda Smith from Notre Dame Academy. The lone singles player from the area is Norwell's Susan Bitetti. The next round will be held May 19-20 in Old Rochester.
