Nishihara High School plays the season ending encore, Jan '01, after winning the Nationals at Christmas. Later in 2001 went on to win the worlds outside (for all that argues about this being indoors). This is the best show I've ever seen executed in High School Marching period (newly posted 2004-05 show might beat it although it was not as well executed, but it was a much more demanding show)! Cal vs Washington State Halftime Show 11-3-07

Noted Bandmaster Patrick Gilmore wrote the lyrics for this tune when his band was attached to the 24th Massachusetts Infantry. The tune is the same as the Irish song "Johnny, I Hardly Knew Ye" but there is some dispute as to which came first. "Johnny" did not refer to "Johnny Reb" but most likely Gilmore's future brother-in-law, a Union army officer. Gary Brolsma (aka the Numa Numa Guy) joins in during the MSU Marching Band "Technology" Halftime show. The show had 3 concepts, the iPod(U2 song), the Cell Phone(famous ringtone melodies), and YouTube. Gary stepped in on the YouTube part of the show and conducted "Dragostea din tei" (the Numa Numa Song). This was during the MSU v Iowa halftime show on 10/24/09.
