On May 22, 2008, a prototype of the interior of the new M8 railcars for the Metro-North New Haven Line were put on display at the New Haven Metro-North Station. Passengers were invited to tour the cars and offer feedback for last minute changes before the cars are delivered in late 2009. During thier first year on Metro North, 2005, the M7A gives us the rairoad excitement we crave. This is about the fastest section of track on the Harlem Line, where the permitted speed is 80 MPH.

Metro North Train 939, the 3:21PM shuttle to Wassaic departs north from Southeast Station. Today's consist is FL9M's 2011 (on the point) and 2014 (trailing) and three Shoreline cars. Metro North Train 1934, the Waterbury Shuttle from Bridgeport to Waterbury, arrives at Derby Shelton. Today's consist is a pair of FL9M's back to back with 2016 on the point and 2027 trailing. There are two coaches; Shoreline II 6442 and Shoreline I cab car 6101 (Storm King). The video was taken at 4PM on January 7th, 2008.

As a taxpayer in New York State - M-7As make me sick. Lets design a smaller car - even though we don't have to with no regard for passneger comfort. Hey - its ADA accessible, but nothing else on it works properly. These cars proved their worth especially well last week when not one, but two trains of them died on the Hudson Line during the evening rush within minutes of one another.
