This is video footage of the fire that broke out on Earth Day, April 22nd 2009, in Horry County, specifically around the North Myrtle Beach area. A friend and myself drove right into the heart of it to get some footage. Needless to say we got pretty close. Enjoy.

This was taken on River Oaks Drive approaching International Drive in the Carolina Forest area near Bell Grove at approx. 5:30pm. Check out more videos and a link to live Horry County Fire and Rescue battling the blazes, (and I say that because there are tons of flair ups in a huge area and it has been difficult for the firefighters to fight the fires in areas they cannot reach by truck).

Brush fire

What the Cherry Grove Beach section of North Myrtle Beach, SC looks like on Thursday morning, April 23, 2009 after yesterday's wildfire in Myrtle Beach yesterday. Amazing how far smoke and ash can travel. Even up here the air is pretty thick. It's difficult to see from the video, but we can't see a half mile up or down the beach. There just aren't enough words to express appreciation for firefighters...

This is a view traveling over Highway 31 on International Drive/Grissom Parkway headed East at approx. 5:30pm.

I took this shot on Reeves Ferry road off of HWY 90. Right before Bear Bluff road.

i just wanted to get a better idea of what this thing looked like. we went to the beach colony resort on 53rd ave n in myrtle beach on the 22nd floor. i'll get another video tonight to get some more images.
