PYRO videos

Well, it took some time (Crysis and Timeshift can be great timewasters) but it's finally here. I chose the Pyro for this vid as it seems that he got a little stealth nerf in a recent patch. Playing a Pyro with competent adversaries is somewhat like playing a spy without his disguise kit. You'll get killed a lot if you just try to rush in and flame people head-on. Sure, you'll get kills from the burn damage, but my style involves not dying so much. :P There's a higher quality version up here ...

The Pyro System is my final project for a mechanisms class in the spring of 2008. It gives me the power that the X-Men character Pyro has, as shown in the clip before the demonstration. Another demo is located here: www.youtube.com

Here's a demo of the workings of Pyro System 2.2. No, I will not be making a how-to video--the build would be too difficult for a novice; anyone capable of successfully building it could do so without plans or a how-to video. EDIT: I have not been able to find the time to build units for sale. At some point soon I will sell the original on ebay.

Mouse 1 + W, this is how the Pyro is played. You shouldn't be rewarded with even one kill while playing like this, let alone dominations and top scores. You really don't have to aim at anything. You're actually better off not aiming at anything as Pyro. Sadly, this isn't cherry picked footage.

In 2004 I worked on a film in Thailand, the local pyro guys were very good at making effects from everyday items, they had methods I had never seen before and taught me many great tricks of their trade. They sourced a gum rosin which made a excellent dry fireball, but due to a language barrier and secret mens business the real idenity and other uses of this gum rosin was never found. The Prometheus project is moving very quickly and is still on track for completion by Halloween. All tests of electronic controls have been extremely successful. New game play mode I created for pyro's. The goal? Eliminate the other team using nothing but airblast. Crit rockets rain down from the sky and select random targets, those targets then must deflect the rockets to the other team. The rockets home in on their respective targets, so you absolutely must deflect the rocket or suffer the consequences. www.voogru.com
