The Thunderdome is an excellent deep and shallow dive. The wall is vertical with many different sponges and coral species to attract the local fishes. In the shallows are the remains of the metal dome built for a French reality TV show that aired briefly in the early 1990's. Now home to a large school of French grunts and schoolmasters, the dome is one of the best shallow dives around Providenciales in the Turks and Caicos Islands. I hope you enjoy the dive.

We are back with new programs! We spend a lot of time in the Turks and Caicos, so not surprisingly we are back there for this week's episode. This site, off the Northwest Point area of Providenciales, is a great first or second dive since the wall is so nice and there's lots to see in the shallows under the boat. Check out the cleaning station, the Southern Stingray and Smooth Trunkfish.

Grace Bay diving is oftentimes dismissed as boring or not as exciting as other areas around the Turks and Caicos, such as West Caicos or Northwest Point. Despite the absence of the 6000 foot drop off right below you when diving Grace Bay sites, the walls are very nice, the coral varieties are large and healthy, as are the fish populations. Piranha Cove is an excellent example of what diving Grace Bay is really like. Sharks, lots of fish, a nice 110 foot wall and the top of the wall at 25-30 ...

Hole in the Wall is just that. A small hole in the top of the reef at 55 feet leading into a cavern that opens out onto the edge of the wall at 90 feet. It's a bit snug getting through the hole, but well worth it for the view looking back up at the light streaming through the hole, or out to the deep blue of the drop off where the cavern exits onto the vertical wall. Lots of fish and a bunch of young barracuda were hanging out at the dive site the day we were there.
