This is a video describing the initial development of a nanoscale aluminum and water ice (ALICE) propellant. This work was done by a collaborative effort between Purdue and Penn State University and was funded by AFOSR and NASA. The support of Dr. Mitat Birkan is particularly noted. An impressive victory from the Schembechler years that never gets talked about. The Boilers came into this game led by quarterback Mark Herrmann. Purdue ranked #4 in the nation in total offense and could wrap up the Rose Bowl birth with a victory in Ann Arbor. But the Wolverines finished the game with a third straight shutout.
