Chicabal Lake - sacred, near Quetzaltenango/ Xela, Guatemala
A description of Chicabal Lake in Guatemala. Lake Chicabal is an inactive volcano where a lake has now formed. It was a beautiful hike to get there, and really awesome to experience. You can´t swim or really touch the lake, even though there are fish in there. Mayans consider it one of the most sacred places on earth, and there are ceremonies here done almost daily. It´s about a 1.5 hour trip from Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. Read more about our time in Quetzaltenango at www.bessieandkyle.com... |
