Attention - The Raconteurs

lyrics: Hey! Now that you have my attention, What are you gonna do? You might have good intentions But they're not coming through You're very pleased with yourself I see, It's like a walk in the park You aren't enlightened by anybody else, cause You can see in the dark Got a lock, Got a key Got some kind of vice-like grip on me On a leash, by the reigns Got a look that puts me in chains I tried a subtle suggestion A more direct approach A can't make a connection You're beyond reproach No need for petty excuses No need for thumbing around I don't know what the use is or what you're throwing down Got a lock, Got a key Got some kind of vice-like grip on me On a leash, by the reigns Got a look that puts me in chains Weird mix of lyrics here: Do you like the reflection? Do you love the reflection? Do you like what you see? Do you like the attention? Do you like the attention you get from me? Hey! Yeah! Hey! Hey! Now that you have my attention... Got some kind of vice-like grip on me Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey... (continues) Got a lock, Got a key.

1984: The Sikh Holocaust

A reflection on the attack on Darbar Sahib 20 years ago, in response to the attack and the assasination of Indira Gandhi. This is a must see for everyone, Sikhs and non-Sikhs alike. Although it is short, it brilliantly depicts the horror and tragedy of 1984. The producer uses authentic footage and audio from various news agencies to create an educational and freely distributable video that gets at the heart of the matter. The video starts off with a picture of the Normandy Landing where Allied troops attacked the Nazi's, stopping a great Holocaust, as well as some pictures from Tiananmen Square. It then goes to show a speech about 1984 in the US House of Representatives. The camera angle shows that nobody is there listening or watching, empty seats, perhaps somewhat symbolic of how the world refuses to address what happened. This video is soul stirring, revealing the raw truth for the masses. Viewer discretion is advised.

Mawla Ya Hussayn - Nauha

A Nauha (Elegy -- which means a poem of mourning, a reflection on the death of someone or on a sorrow generally) about the tragedies which befell Imam Hussain, his Family and His Companions, in what is known as the Battle of Kerbala, which took place on the 10th of Muharram, known as the Day of Ashura. Recitation of Elegies to remind oneself of a certain tragedy was the practice of the Prophets and the Sahaba: http://www.answering-ansar.org/answers/azadari/en/chap6.php On one side of the battlefield of Karbala, stood Imam Hussain (AS), who was raised in the house of the Prophet (SAWS) along with his family members and companions. On the other side stood the forces of Yazid, a tyrant claiming to be the representative of the Prophet (SAWS), the ruler of the Islamic Ummah, and furthermore, claiming to be the "Khalifat Allah," or the Vicegerent of God on Earth. On whose side would YOU stand on? Articles on the Revolution, and the Everlasting Stand of Imam Hussain: http://www.aimislam.com/ashura/literature.html Imam Hussain, the Sacrifice for Mankind: http://www.aimislam.com/ashura/sacrifice.html Sunni View of the Tyrant Yazid: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunni_view_of_Yazid_I WHY DO THE "FOLLOWERS AND LOVERS OF AHLULBAIT" MOURN FOR HUSSAIN (R.A.)? The Followers and the Lovers of the Ahlulbait cry in the memory of Imam Hussain, for: 1- The Imams of Ahlul-Bayt cried for him; 2- We love him more than we love our fathers and our dear ones; 3- He is a Symbol of resistance against tyranny and the leader of the Martyrs for us; 4- We want to swear allegiance to him and his path and keep aloof from their enemies; 5- His aims have not been fully achieved and his blood has not been revenged yet. As such, we keep this event with all its emotion alive until such time that Imam Mahdi (AS) appears who will cleanse the surface of the Earth form all such tyrants; 6- Condolence to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH&HF) and the members of Ahlul- Bayt; 7- Abiding the instruction of Ahlul-Bayt in remembering this event and seeking the reward associated with it The emotion of Crying can be found in the Quran, and was done by Many of the Messengers and Sahaba http://www.answering-ansar.org/answers/azadari/en/chap5.php IS SELF-FLAGELLATION ALLOWED IN ISLAM? The act of Chest Beating (Maatam) as a sign of grief can be found in the Holy Quran, Hadith and the Injil [The Quran] In the Holy Quran, Chapter 51 we read that Lady Sara [Wife of Prophet Ibrahim] struck her face when she was told that she would conceive a baby: "Then came forward his wife in grief, she smote her face and said (what! I) An old barren woman?" Quran 51:29 http://www.jamateahlesunnat.net/quran/Translation/holyquran051.htm [Smote means to deliver or deal (a blow, hit, etc.) by striking hard] The slapping of Prophet Ibraheem's wife Sara is proven from the Qur'an. The Qur'an does not condemn her actions, but tells us to adhere to the ways of the people of Ibraheem (as) When the Shia, or Lovers of Ahlulbait here the calamities and tragedies which befell them, theycannot help but get the same emotions which Lady Sara had. [The Sahaba] The most explicit proof of self-inflicted injury comes from Owais al-Qarni the great Muslim Sahabi, praised by both Shi'a and Sunni erudite. He had an immense love for the Holy Prophet (s). When the news reached him in Yemen that two teeth of the Holy Prophet (s) were broken in the battle of Ohad, he extracted all his teeth. When the Holy Prophet (s) got the news in Medina that Owais had struck down all his teeth, he (s) exclaimed, "Indeed Owais is our devoted friend" For more Hadith and Historical Narrations of Messengers and Sahaba lamenting, visit: http://www.answering-ansar.org/answers/azadari/en/chap9.php [The Bible/"Injil"] Isaiah 22:12 - shows that this type of mourning was ordained by God "On that Day the Lord called for weeping and beating the breast, shaving the head and putting on sack cloth" http://bible.cc/isaiah/22-12.htm "You are now at ease, be anxious; tremble, you who have no cares. Fiber Optic Connector Types

L-com Connectivity Products Explains Fiber Optic Connector Types - http://www.L-com.com There are several types of fiber optic connectors available today. The most common are: ST, SC, FC, MT-RJ and LC style connectors. All of these types of connectors can be used with either multimode of singlemode fiber. There are three types of polishes which can be applied to a fiber connector: PC or Physical contact, UPC or Ultra Physical contact and APC or Angled Physical contact. Each polish type exhibits a different level of back reflection. Back reflection is a measure of the light reflected off the end of a fiber connector. This light is measured in decibals. For certain applications, the amount of back reflection on a fiber connector is critical. View more tips and videos at http://www.L-com.com

Alexyss K. Tylor Vagina Power -- 07/30/07

AKT's response to a caller. Transcript: "My show is a labor of love, and people are like, 'Why do you tell so much? Why do you break it down like that? You should be making this amount of money, you should be selling it.' Well, right now I feel like it's all about getting people information. It is not about anybody looking up to ME; it's about people realizing that they have the power within themselves and me just being a guide to take you back home, which is that inner chord, that little girl in you that has all that information. So that's the same thing that I'm telling you -- I think it's important to get some quiet time now, to really be clear about your agenda, what you were born to do and how you're supposed to do it... Because one thing that men will do, if you're involved with men -- one thing that women will do, if you're involved with women.. The educational part of yourself that people will call 'evil' or 'the devil' or 'the tempter' -- that part will send the type of men to you that want to use you and take advantage of you to make sure that what you just said to me, you're really clear about this shit.. It seems like to me on some level you're not quite convicted 100%, that that's what you deserve and that's where you need to be -- in a place where you have a balanced relationship with a man, when he's giving you what you just told me that you wanted. So people will come test your ass, and say 'are you clear? You really want a one-on-one? Ok, well I'm gonna come and tell her what she wanna hear or what I think she needs to hear up here so she can open her ass up.' See, and you keep telling me that sometimes it's sexual, and then they disappear, sometimes it's not. So it seems to me there are parts of you.. These men are sensing that you are not sure. So these situations are coming to make you look in the mirror. These people are a reflection of a part of you. See they know they're not committed; they know they don't want to be committed. They basically stoppin, layin and playin, hittin and stickin. And then they go on about their business. They're looking for somebody to play with; they're looking for a weakness. You might not realize you've got them (...?) but you've got to realize -- you're intuitive, but men are intuitive too. They just don't divulge that shit. So, these men are comin at you, and they're playin on the gaps in your intuition, and they're telling you what you wanna hear. You're feeling that there's an emotional connection because that is a projection of what you want. That's what I'm trying to get you to see. They are mirroring what you're feeling, and that you want to give to a man, that you want him to give back. And they are reflecting it back to you, so you are thinking that this is real because they're saying it and they're creating this impetus that you're starting to.. raise this emotion in you, and you think that it's mutual, and then when they disappear, then you realize -- 'ok. It really wasn't about them. It was about me.' But they came to be like a equalizer for you, to help you harmonize yourself. It's not about anybody else harmonizing you. It's about making sure that you're clear that where you are, right now, is not where you want to be. And if you are where you want to be, at every level of yourself from the top to the bottom, you have got to integrate the truth! And where the truth is lacking, you have got to find the darkness, and you have got to find the lie, eradicate the lie, and illuminate your consciousness with the light. It begins with us, and it ends with us. Once you're 100% there, that whole reflection that you're giving off, will change cosmically, subconsciously, superconsciously, and you will start to attract back what you are made of and what you are giving off, just like you're doing now. Does that sound crazy?"

General Colin Powell Endorses Barack Obama for President

Former Secretary of State Colin Powell announced Sunday that he will be voting for Sen. Barack Obama, citing the Democrat's "ability to inspire" and the "inclusive nature of his campaign." "He has both style and substance. I think he is a transformational figure," Powell said on NBC's "Meet the Press." "Obama displayed a steadiness. Showed intellectual vigor. He has a definitive way of doing business that will do us well," Powell said. Powell, a retired U.S. general and a Republican, was once seen as a possible presidential candidate himself. Powell said he questioned Sen. John McCain's judgment in picking Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate because he doesn't think she is ready to be president. He also said he was disappointed with some of McCain's campaign tactics, such as bringing up Obama's ties to former 1960s radical Bill Ayers. Powell served as secretary of state under President Bush from 2001 to 2005. The notion of a Powell endorsement has been rumored for several months. On August 13, Powell's office denied a report on Fox by commentator Bill Kristol that Powell had decided to publicly back Obama at the Democratic National Convention. Several sources said at the time that Powell had not made a decision about a possible endorsement. "As always, he is holding his cards close and waiting for more information," one adviser told CNN's John King in August. Powell himself brushed off queries on any potential presidential nod but told ABC News on August 13 that he would not be going to Denver, Colorado, for the convention. "I do not have time to waste on Bill Kristol's musings," he said. "I am not going to the convention. I have made this clear." In February, Powell told CNN's Wolf Blitzer that he was weighing an endorsement of a Democratic or independent candidate. "I am keeping my options open at the moment," Powell said. "I have voted for members of both parties in the course of my adult life. And as I said earlier, I will vote for the candidate I think can do the best job for America, whether that candidate is a Republican, a Democrat or an independent," he added. Powell has offered praise for Obama, calling him an "exciting person on the political stage." "He has energized a lot of people in America," said Powell, who briefly weighed his own run for the White House in the mid-1990s. "He has energized a lot of people around the world. And so I think he is worth listening to and seeing what he stands for." Powell's adviser has said that "he likes and admires John McCain, and that would be a factor in anything he does if he decides to get more involved." Another source close to Powell said he has known the Republican nominee for more than three decades "and likes him and is looking for a reason to vote for him. He hasn't found it yet." The former general, who has largely steered clear of politics since leaving the Bush administration, noted that the next president will need to work to restore America's standing in the world. Powell gave the keynote address at the Republican National Convention in support of George W. Bush in 2000. "I will ultimately vote for the person I believe brings to the American people the kind of vision the American people want to see for the next four years," he said. "A vision that reaches out to the rest of the world, that starts to restore confidence in America, that starts to restore favorable ratings to America. Frankly, we've lost a lot in recent years." Powell's adviser also said at the time that the vice presidential picks for both candidates would be a major factor in his decision, both for the quality of each man's running mate and for what sort of "signal that choice sends about the character and judgment of the candidate." He also said that a Powell decision to back Obama would not be a surprise. barack hussein obama colin powell endorses endorsement meet the press oct october 19 19th 2008 gen. general endorse muslim racist ohio terrorist
