Round Stingray
While doing a night dive at Leo Carrillo we came across this guy out searching for food. This is a Round Stingray. They commonly live out over sandy areas lying on the bottom, sometimes partially buried under the sand. Stingrays have a sharp spine on their tail that they can use for self defense. The treatment for a stingray sting is to submerge the sting in hot water, as hot as you can stand. The heat helps to break down the venom and can help to relieve the pain from the sting. Also ... |
