The Ile-de-France was the first ocean liner, launched by the French Line in 1927, finished in the fine and modernistic Art Deco style, directly influenced by the Exposition des Arts Décoratifs in Paris 1925. With these interiors, younger passangers took the route from Le Havre to New York...the "Ile" was a full success in these jazzling time until 1939. Part II : the post-war period from 1949-1959
