Side by side comparison Canon HF-S100 (left) vs. Sony HDR-XR500V (right). Canon autofocus seemed a little soft in spots. Not sure why. Even though it was edited full screen, Canon has an odd blanking at the top of screen, almost like the chip is not calibrated to center.
