Like old times, a Southern Pacific SW1500 along with a Rio Grande GP40-2 are switching at Roseville, on the east side of the maintenance facility (only the GP40-2 was under power). Times have changed, though, as the person waving hand signals on the SW1500 is a brakewoman. Rumor has it that there are women engineers at Roseville, so this could have been an all woman crew.

7/21/2009 5:00 PM ET CSX W&A Sub Ringgold Milepost CSX OWA 114.4 Ringgold, GA CSX Q685 rolls south through Ringgold with a nice consist. The Ex-SP now UPY SW1500 looks like it is heading to the scrap yard. I assumed it is being sent to Waycross to be scrapped. This old switch engine was built in August 1967. This is a trip around my work in progress layout behind a MTH SW-1500 and BL-2. I have been fooling around with DCS trying to figure out how to make a lash up. I have also been fooling around with Nero Vision trying to learn how to edit my videos. What you see is the result. I present to you my two favorite engines in their first lash up as well as my first attempt at editing video. As always comments (one way or another) are appreciated.

Shunting in the Sheridan Yard

35A heads Eastbound on the Westbound track with a restricted proceed to CP Phoenix. He has a good Engine lashup of an EX connie and a nice SW1500. Thats the second SW series switcher I caught today.

I spotted two odd BNSF locomotives near the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden, a GP39E (#2756) and a GP28M (#1522). They were heading westbound toward downtown. GP39E is a rebuilt/modified GP30. This cab was likely rebuilt, as it looks "standard" and lacks the slants and angles of normal GP30 cabs. GP28M is a Morrison Knudsen rebuilt GP5, another odd locomotive. This one has an Operation Lifesaver paint scheme. I dropped by the Union Pacific Denver North Yard later, and the only action ...

A southbound Norfolk Southern freight has Sandersville SW1500 #1400 in tow after having servicing done at Debutts yard in Chattanooga as they hit the CSX diamond at CP Hair in Dalton,GA on 12/04/09.

This is a trip around my work in progress layout behind a MTH SW-1500. It's a railking so the detailing isn't everything I would have liked. With a short wheel base and 2 motors it is a great switcher and it will pull everything that my BL-2 will pull on my O-32 inner loop and not look funny doing it.

On Sun JUly 19, 2009 I got a VERY surprizing treat! I discovered SW1500 # 2239 on NS local H66 on the Upper Lehigh line...SW1500's are NEVER seen up here! Watch the sw1500 as it leaves Northampton and heads North to the Palmerton Yard with it's short train...she later returned with a GP 40, Gp 38-2 & a pair of Sd 40's from Palmerton that were stored there....i missed that!

this is a look at the NS sw1500. The reson i put mp15 is cuz the Download said it was a MP15 but it really is a SW1500. sorry about the gliching its something to do with FRAPS and the numbers were some setting on FRAPS that i just figured out how to turn off so the rest of my vids shouldnt have it.
