Taxol: Mechanism of action

The anti-cancer drug Taxol works by interfering with processes within cells. The way in which Taxol binds to microtubule and prevents cell division is shown in this animation. Learn more at CancerQuest http://cancerquest.org

Corey Sheppard - Blind What If

This is a great opener from Corey Sheppard in the Blind video "What If". Great music, great skating, one of my favorites video parts ever! By the way the songs are "Desert Painter" by Zoeangel and "Banquet" by Bloc Party.

A Cane Toad (High Quality)

My neighbour has mowing his lawn this morning and this cane toad came seeking shelter to my yard. It is pretty rare to see a cane toad during the day, so I grabbed my camera and made this video. Ugly, isn't it? You can watch it also in High Quality. The Cane Toad (Bufo marinus), also known as the Giant Neotropical Toad or Marine Toad, is a large, terrestrial true toad native to Central and South America. It is a member of the subgenus Chaunus of the genus Bufo, which includes many different true toad species throughout Central and South America. The Cane Toad is a prolific breeder; females lay single-clump spawns with large numbers of eggs. Its reproductive success is partly because of opportunistic feeding: it has a diet, unusual among Anurans, of both dead and living matter. Adults average 10 to 15 centimetres (46 in) in length; the largest recorded specimen weighed 2.65 kg (5.8 lb) with a length of 38 cm (15 in) from snout to vent. The Cane Toad has poison glands, and the tadpoles are highly toxic to most animals if ingested. Because of its voracious appetite and very odd mouth size of up to 1 meter wide at times, the Cane Toad has been introduced to many regions of the Pacific and the Caribbean islands as a method of agricultural pest control, notably failing in the case of Australia in 1935, and derives its common name from its use against the greyback cane beetle pests. The Cane Toad is now considered a pest in many of its introduced regions, because its toxic skin kills many native predators when ingested. It has many negative effects on farmers because of pets and animals eating the creatures. You can read the complete information in: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cane_Toad

Toadie Tom Price

A new species of Bush Toad has recently been discovered hopping in the halls of the Longworth House Office Building, far from the native southern habitat of its many cousins. Too small to be technically a toad, but bearing all the features of a toad, the animal has spawned a sub-genus known to scientists as "Toadie". The secretive, shadow-dwelling Toadie was discovered by night crew workers curious about a mysterious trail of the slime left in corridors and other areas of the Longworth Building. Workers were unable to capture it after several efforts; however, they were able to photograph it while feeding. Known as Tomicus Priceius, the Bush Toadie has an exceptionally long tongue, small, beady eyes Known as Tomicus Priceius, the Bush Toadie has an exceptionally long tongue, small, beady eyes the Bush that it seems to regard as a delicacy. The relationship may be symbiotic: in return for droppings, Tomicus Priceius uses its long tongue to vigorously lick the host Bush. Of what use these lickings are is unknown, but host Bushes are reported to appear happier after a good Toadie licking. How the Bush Toadie came to reside in the House Offices is a subject of great mystery to scientists, but since its arrival in 2004, it has apparently grown fond of soft leather chairs, the company of fat cats and a diet consisting primarily of pork. At night it cozies up to pending congressional legislation on which it mainly rests. Favorites identified thus far include bills for the Iraq war, Social Security and tax cuts for the wealthy. As a known enemy of all things agricultural, experts are studying ways to remove Tomicus Priceius from Washington back to its native Georgia. But even these experts agree that removal will be difficult without more public demand for concerted action. Officials also fear that the Georgia Bush Toadie will begin breeding in earnest in early 2006 and urge caution to the public.

Individualism vc Colectivism

Individualism vs Collectivism Let me start by insinuating that, belief, based on Philosophies, indoctrinations, and ideologies are centrally based on generalizations, in which the pedagogue and adopters of such philosophies conveniently and rather ostentatiously maneuver around, when facing Reality. As such, it becomes an enigma to comprehensively draft a resolution on Dichotomous issues of Collectivism and Individualism. From my Perspective. The concepts of Collectivism and Individualism are not as Mutually Exclusive as propagated, as these Principles are in-fact very Interwoven and intertwined. This is indeed factual because everyone, regardless of ideological affiliation, is still also Individualistic in Existence, since each person is a Single Entity. Hence providing the room for Individualism in one's personal life, or in one's liaisons with immediate cordial entities. But, in Juxtaposing the argument, it's also becomes apparent that perpetuation of inculcated indoctrinations of Individualism in the real world will have to be discarded, especially when relating to One who's philosophies are not Concordal with that of the Individualist. A good illustration in buttressing this salient argument presides at the work-place. A person that has inculcated, individualism, will be constrained in manifesting his individualistic ideologies, since the status-quo of the Modus-Operandi in effect, is most unequivocally dictated by the Boss, regardless of how Un-Conventional it is, relative To your Ideologies. Especially since the prevalent principle at the workplace is constructed around a sub-genus of Collectivism called "Division of Labor" ..... hence you can not have it your way like Burger-King. And that is not to reprimand Individualism or Advocate Collectivism. It just protrudes the disparity between Theory and Reality and how Ostentatious Generalizations can be. Furthermore, Absolute Individualism can Only be accomplished in a habitation Paradigmed after the Un-accomplishable Utopia, or by One who's Habitation is defined by isolated existence. Hence you can have it you way like Burger-King when You are on your own like mommy used to tell me. Similarly, Absolute Collectivism can only be accomplished in a setting like the anthropological Hunter and Gatherer society of the Ice-Ages dominated by reciprocity, Since Collectivism presents the most Unequivocal avenue of survival and Philoprogenitiveness. Therefore, we are here today because of the Collectivism adopted by our HomoErectus predecessors. Otherwise we Hominids would've become extinct like the more Individualistic Neanderthals. Today, what we practice is selective Individualism or selective Collectivism. Because we tend to contort ideologies based on conveniency or their catering to our Varying situations and in-satiable needs. But in all sincerity and practicality, even though we practice Selective Individualism and Collectivism, the pendulum mostly tilts towards Collectivism, because that provides the most efficient way of achieving optimum productivity. Vehicles are manufactured Collectively not individually, Buildings and Bridges are constructed Collectively not individually, Technological Infrastructures and Amenities are achieved Collectively not individually, and so on. Hence, even the most diminutive of innovation is only or most effectively achieved by Collectivism, of-course with a few exceptions and anomaly's. In essence, Collectivism prevails on most issues that pertains to survival and development. While Individualism prevails on on issues of self-help, self-growth and other disciplines that pertains to individuals. Nonetheless, Selective Individualism coupled with Collectivism presents the most Optimum efficiency for our modern lives today. With the Bearing more Collectivism Inclined of-course. In conclusion. I'll like you to know that "Theory" promulgates the extreme dichotomy of Collectivism and individualism. But "Reality" dictates that Collectivism and individualism are not as disconnected or mutually-exclusive as propagated. But, that in-fact, each ideology has profound elements and fabrics inculcated and ingrained into the other. Hence making them Interwoven.
