In the bronze medal match 8th-seeded Geeske Banck and Anja Gunther from Germany here in white -, beat 13th-seeded Australians - Tamsin Barnett and Becchara Palmer here in green, in straight sets 21-14 & 21-18 in 43 minutes. In the main final, the 2nd-seeds Jennifer Boss and April Ross from US here in blue won the 2008 SWATCH FIVB World Tour Phuket Thailand Open at the Karon Beach after beating Nicole Branagh and Tyra Turner also from the US here in white - in Sundays final. Boss and Ross, who did not lose a single match to their respective rivals en route to the all-Americans final, came from behind 18-21, 21-14, & 15-12 to beat Branagh and Turner to step onto the top level of the victory podium and shared the 1st prize money of 32,000 US$ or about 1.1 million baht. They had already beaten third-seeded Branagh and Turner before in a quarter-final encounter on Friday. Last year they finished a disappointing 9th in the SWATCH FIVB World Tour Phuket Thailand Open here.
