H. E. Terton Namkha Drimed Rabjam Rinpoche
His Eminence Namkha Drimed Rabjam Rinpoche was born in 1938 in Tibet. From an early age, he would experience various verses of spiritual teachings welling forth spontaneously in the expanse of his awareness. His childhood games consisted entirely of playing at conferring empowerments, explaining teachings, performing sacred dances, and the like, for he was concerned solely with spiritual activities. As the past life habit patterns established during his previous lives became more dominant, Namkha Rinpoche began to sing vajra songs day and night and he demonstrated in various ways the uncontrived conduct of a spiritual master. |

BUDDHA PADMASAMBHAVA-MAIN VERSES OF SIX BARDOS
PADMASAMBHAVA:BARDO THODOL-MAIN VERSES OF SIX BARDOS by Padmasambhava according to terton Karma Lingpa is 33.VISUAL DHARMA published to benefit all beings. To EMBED&SPONSOR preparation of Visual Dharmas means to perform 1.enlightened Activity as taught by the Buddhas. All Visual Dharmas are empowered with Natural Sound of Dharmata (Tib. Chönyid kyi rangdra) and must be treated with respect-they contain sacred instructions & symbols. Visual Dharma is creative integration of Buddhist teachings into lives of contemporary people. The author of important cycle of Bardo teachings is Padmasambhava-the origin of these sacred teachings is Dharmakaya Buddha Samantabhadra. In 14th century terton Karma Lingpa discovered this earth tresure (Tib. sater) at Gampo hill in central Tibet. Since than Bardo teachings are practiced widely esp. in Nyingma & Kagyu Vajrayana schools of Buddhism. MAIN VERSES OF SIX BARDOS were first publihed as Visual Dharma in DVD LIGHT MANDALAS by ven.Mangala Konchok Norbu in 2006 (ISBN 961-91189-1-X). This Visual Dharma presents progressed work from 2006 with new scientific research. In Kagyu school we find later clasification of only 4 Bardos. There is precise reason why Guru Rinpoche taught about 6 Bardos: there are 6 realms of samsara,6 Vajra spaces of Samantabhadra`s symbol and there are 6 Bardos. The Verses are reminder for everyone to WAKE UP.To „switch" to the awakened state without ignorance(tib.marigpa) we need FAITH.We must sincerely beleive-as it is-that Padmasambhava, the Lotus-born Guru is speaking these Verses directly to everyone, directly to you.To have such recognition is transmission-the recognition of holy Dharma. As it is said:So why not practice Dharma at this very moment? How to practice the Dharma at this very moment we teach in the Visual Dharma for 2008.Every sentient being is involved in 6 Bardo states. They are individual cyclic existence. In the Bardo of birth & life (Tib. kyene bardo) it is most important for everyone to study, reflect & meditate according to holy Dharma & to realise 3 dimensions :Dharmakaya (Tib.Choku),Sambhogakaya (Longku),Nirmanakaya (Tulku). In the Bardo of dreams (Tib. milam bardo) advanced Buddhist practitioner can receive many profound Teachings. One must awaken from dream-like state of careless ignorance and practice rigpa-wisdom awareness. In Atiyoga essence lineage of self-arisen Sound of Dharmata we practice in such way to accomplish Rigpa luminous shunyata. Many advanced Atiyoga masters of the past including Ayu Khandro (1839-1952) accomplished the Rainbow Body by practicing in such authentic way. In Bardo of samadhi meditation one must abandon crowd of distractions by listening unimpeded continuity of the Natural Sound of Dharmata and rest in the boundless state of Samantabhadra Buddha. When the Bardo of the moment before death (Tib.Chikai bardo) approaches one enters again, but more deeply into clear awareness of the Teachings by returning/reconnecting with Natural Sound of Dharmata knowing that Penetration of Sound is the base of all Buddha´s Teachings: Dharmakaya-Samantabhadra.One´s skandha of consciousness becomes liberated in an instant like Garuda bird flying free in the sky at the moment after the egg shell is broken. The space outside the vase is the same as the space inside the vase. One realises this completely when there is NO MORE A WALL. The end of a wall is the END OF DUALISM.If one does´t have complete Dharmakaya realisation at the moment of death, the Bardo of Dharmata appears. This is 2.chance for liberation-Sambhogakaya realisation of peaceful & wrathful deities. They appear as the natural luminosity of Dharmakaya. If one does´t practice the correct View - the Base in this very life of kyene bardo,is not liberated into Dharmakaya at the moment of death or in the Bardo of Dharmata, one is again in the bardo of becoming. But even at this stage there is chance for liberation as described in the Verses. Someone who is not practicing the holy Dharma in a correct way there is very little chance to be liberated from samsara.Someone who eats meat is very often reborn as animal being killed for food. For this precise reason:not to be reborn in lower reams (animals, hungry ghosts, beings of hell) Lord Buddha taught that the first ethical rule is not to kill & not to eat meat! In Kunsang Gongpa Zhangtal we DEDICATE:May all sentient beings without exception realise the nature of unexpressible base.OTHER PRACTICAL INSTRUCTIONS are published in descriptions of 32 Visual Dharmas. KILAYA TANTRA GURKHUKMA part 1
KILAYA TANTRA GURKHUKMA by Pure Vision Terton H.H. Jigmey Phuntsog Jungney Rinpoche is published to benefit all beings. Special purpose of publishing this Visual Dharma on Buddhist channel OBF International is to support world peace,to remove & prevent war conflicts and violence, pollution & other obstacles for spiritual growth & enlightenment of every sentient being. All Visual Dharmas are empowered with self-arisen Sound of Dharmata-they contain sacred teachings & symbols and must be treaten with respect. The aim of this scientific research is not to present teaching of this particular sadhana but to give an overview and specific research. There must be precise reason why this pure vision sadhana was revealed in the Asura cave in Nepal(1990). Lotus-born King (Skt. Padmaraja) practiced Visshudha & Vajrakilaya tantra according to instructions of Awareness holder Prabhahasti from India in the Yangleshö cave near Pharping, accomplishing Mahamudra level of awareness holder. There he bound with oath 16 guardians of Vajrakilaya teachings (1). Many centuries later H.H.Jigmey Phuntsog Rinpoche from Tibet revealed Vajrakilaya pure vision(Tib. Da-nang) sadhana in the same area. Rinpoche was one of incarnations of tertön Lerab Lingpa (1856-1926). During the same year (1990) H.H.the XIV.Dalai Lama wrote the Lineage prayer for this Vajrakilaya sadhana with supplication to remove outer & inner obstacles. Lotus-born Guru Padmasambhava revealed this sadhana from the expanse of intrinsic awareness. Khenpo Namdröl Rinpoche who transmitted this sadhana to Dzogchen practitioners at Merigar community in Italy wrote down the text according to dictation of Jigme Phuntsog Rinpoche at the Asura cave. High Vajrayana teachings were revealed in human world 28 years after Mahaparinirvana of Shakyamuni Buddha by Bodhisattva Vajrapani at Mt. Malaya to 5 holy sages. Vajrakilaya tantras are important part of Nyingma lineages. They belong to Mahayoga which is one of 3 inner tantras of Nyingma Vajrayana Buddhism, together with Anuyoga & Atiyoga. There are 7 transmissions of Vajrakilaya (2) with numerous sadhanas, visualisations & mantras. When Guru Rinpoche was staying in Tibet for 55,6 years he transmitted Vajrakilaya sadhanas to three special disciples at Samye monastery. Lady Yeshe Tshogyal became an adept of Vajrakilaya practice. Buddha Padmasambhava has limitless emanations but there are 8 main emanations. Some of His emanations hold Phurbu (Kila) in the hand (i.e. Dorje Dröllo). In his advice Precious Garland of Gold Master Padma writes : „I shall nurture beings with an unceasing stream of emanations."(3) With pure vision sadhana of Vajrakilaya being revealed in recent times at the Asura cave in Nepal we see that supreme Nirmanakaya Buddha is keeping His promisse. Asuras/demigods are beings of cyclic existence together with gods, humans, animals, hungry ghosts & beings of hell. Poison of mind which lead being to be reborn as asura is envy/jelaousy. Where there is jelausy there is competition. Envy is very heavy poison of mind preventing any spiritual development of an individual. Some people have less and other much more asura characters.People with asura characters are very competitive, greedy bussinessmen style, workaholics. Their activity is samsaric, without Bodhicitta & true compassion.Such people are egoistic & maniacs. From history we can identify many dictators of this world (Hitler,Mussolini,Stalin etc.) as complete asura characters. In Atiyoga/Dzogchen there is teaching about connection of other & inner elements, including wind element (green light). When inner element is not connected with spaciousness of awareness it becomes neurotic. Huricans & tornados are outside visible manifestations of disturbed wind element -- because of climate changes = negative influences of humans on environment. Enlightened --nonsamsaric-energy of wind element belongs to Karma family at N part of mandala in the Sambhogakaya dimension of Buddhahood. Buddha Amoghasiddhi represents all-accomplishing wisdom of green light .His consort is Samaya Tara. At the same time is Vajrakilaya (Tib. Dorje Phurba) important meditation deity (Tib. Yidam) of Nyingma Vajrayana Buddhism. But Vajrakilaya sadhanas are practiced also in Sakya school. Before one starts to understand the importance of Vajrakilaya one must study the meaning of all wrathful deities of Sambhogakaya which appear also in 2.part of 49 days of bardo-intermediate state after the death.Chögyam Trungpa taught: „They (wrathful deities) transmute destructive energy into creative energy."(4). End of part 1. Continuation in part 2. |

DANCES OF 8 MANIFESTATIONS OF PADMASAMBHAVA
This is 4th Visual Dharma (2004) from the International Institute for Contemporary Buddhist Studies. It was created at the time of translating Dharma text "Gypsy Gossip" by Khyabje Thinley Norbu Rinpoche and publishing the text at Vajra-Garuda e-Publications on CD-ROM (ISBN 961-91189-1-X). This Visual Dharma is inspired by excellent Teaching which Rinpoche offers in his explanation of the mantra of Guru Padmasambhava (outer, inner and secret meaning) as well as ennumeration of Eight manifestations of Guru Rinpoche. Life and liberation (Tib. Padma Ka`i Tang) of Buddha Padmasambhava was written down by Lady Master Yeshe Tshogyal (8th Century A.D.) . It was later discovered as hidden treasure (Tib. terma) by Tertön Orgyen Lingpa (14th Century). In 1912 it was translated into French (published in 1933). In 1978 it was published in English language. This chronology shows that Buddhism and its sacred texts are present in Europe from the beginning of 20th Century and that Buddhism is one of the religions traditinaly present in Europe ! This fact must be observed by institutions of Europe, USA and others (Councel of Europe-Strasbourg, European Commission-Brussels, United nations- New York etc.) which organise international conferences and dialogues about religions in Europe and America. See our 5th Project: Human rights and gender equality -- collaboration by the White paper on Intercultural dialogue at the Council of Europe. 2008 is the year of Intercultural dialogue. According to Terma tradition Guru Rinpoche was born from the immaculate Lotus on the Danakosha lake in the country of Oddiyana. He was supreme emanation (Skt. Nirmanakaya, Tib. Tulku) of Sambhogakaya Buddha Amitabha, the Buddha of Limitless light and life. In 8th Century Guru Rinpoche was invited to Tibet by the king Trisong Detsen. Guru Rinpoche has countless manifestations. His main Eight manifestations with correspending gestures (Skt. mudra) are presented in this Visual Dharma. Guru Rinpoche did not have mortal, material karmic body. After spending 55 years in Tibet, he departed on the sun rays. His Eight manifestations have peaceful and wrathful aspects -- according to the needs of sentient beings to be tamed. Based on his Eight manifestations there are numerous initiations with sadhanas, visualisations and mantras. Traditional religious dances, practiced by Buddhist monks at different Buddhist religious festivals, present sacred dances with masks, costumes, movements and gestures (i.e. at Thimpu Tshechu in Bhutan, Mani Rimdu festival at the Everest region in Nepal etc.). This Visual Dharma is direct teaching with the aim of connecting pure perception of every viewer with natural and continuous stainless energy of Padmasambhava´s Lineage. At each 10th lunar day of every lunar month Vajrayana Buddhists throughout the world meditate and celebrate one of the manifestations of Buddha Padmasambhava and his heroic Dharma activity to liberate sentient beings from suffering. Birth of Guru Rinpoche is celebrated on 10th day of 6th lunar month. Our Guide in this degenerate age, Buddha Shaqkyamuni, prophecied, that He will reappear in this world as Buddha Padmasambhava. His promisse was fulfilled. OPEN BUDDHIST FORUM INTERNATIONAL- Serving, upholding and protecting the Teachings of Buddhas and the unity of all Buddhists. 11th ANNIVERSARY OF DUDJOM RINPOCHE II .
H.H. Dudjom Rinpoche II. (1904-1987) was the supreme principal of the Nyingma school of Vajrayana Buddhism, until His passing away in France. Anniversary of Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche II. is on 18th day of 11th lunar month (in 2007 this is on December 26). Rinpoche was the incarnation of tertön Dudjom Lingpa (1835-1903) who was the initiator of Dudjom Tersar lineage. Dudjom Rinpoche II. wrote many precious Dharma texts in Tibetan. Only few of them are translated into English. Most well known is The Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism in two volumens. In Buddhism we celebrate the Anniversaries of passing away of great Bodhisattvas. On such Anniversaries the meditator can experience auspicious signs like appearance of rainbow spheres or thigles around the sun and other asupicious signs. This is connected with Atiyoga/Dzogchen Tödgal practice, which are supported by Trekchod or intrinsic awareness (of emptiness). Allknowing Longchenpa taught that Trekchod and Tödgal must be practiced as a unity. If meditator is attached to Light, he will be reborn in higher realms of form (Skt. Rupakaya). In Atiyoga/Dzogchen Lights are understood as unseparable from Shunyata / emptiness. When Lights of our Buddha-nature (Skt. Tathagatagharba) appears outside, the meditator must remain in meditative equality, not becoming excited. Lights of our precious Buddha-nature, appearing „outside", are understood as Tsal energy of the primordial state, which is one of the three modes of the manifestation of primordial energy. As it is said in 32. MO Divination system - The endless , Auspicious knot : „Oh, intelligent one, look at that wonderful scene with your eyes." Eyes are the gateway of Wisdom. This Visual Dharma is dedicated to the long life of Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche III. who was born in 1990 in Qinghai province of China and is now studying with Kyabje Chatral Rinpoche in Nepal. May authentic Dudjom Tersar Lineage of Nyingma Vajrayana Buddhism continue , until samsara is emptied. International Institute for Contemporary Buddhist Studies Bibliographies of researchers and authors online www.izum.si/cobiss 90321, 90352 1.04 special article 2.10 special work H.E.Lama Tara Tulku Drimed Drolkhar Rinpoche, ven. Mangala Konchok Norbu OPEN BUDDHIST FORUM INTERNATIONAL- HQ e-mail: BuddhaDharma.OBFInternational@gmail.com February 7, 2008 -- First day of 1st lunar month (special month Bumjur Dawa, when merit-positive energy from positive actions is multiplied 100.000 times; first 15 days of new lunar year celebrate miracles of Buddha Shakyamuni, in order to increase faith in present and future disciples). Clairvoyant Dream of H.E.Lama Tara Tulku Drimed Drolkhar Rinpoche on that night : „Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche II. was teaching at the castle Limberg in South Austria. With him very few western disciples like Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche and others. At the end of the Teaching I went to my room for the white offering scarf-katak , because I wanted to offer it to Rinpoche as the sign of gratitude and respect. When I came back to the teaching hall , there was small boy of around 5-6 years, sitting on the throne of Dudjom Rinpoche. He had blond hair (like those children born in Europe or USA). He was thin and on left and right side there were two girls, around 3 years older than he. We made photo , while I was sitting beneath his throne. Later we respectfuly touched our foreheads (a sign of great courtesy) and I saw shining white OM coming from his forehead to mine. It was non-dual. When I stood there the boy was looking into my eyes and smiled...." According to this clairvoyant dream there is another emanation of Dudjom Rinpoche II -- his Body emanation. Realised Buddhist masters like Dudjom Rinpoche can have countless emanations, but five are the most important : emanation of Body, Speech, Mind, Quality and Activity. All these emanations are important- one can not presume that the Mind emanation is more important as others. It is important that all emanations are recognised as Tulkus, because in such way they will more easily serve the teachings of Buddhas in the authentic way by performing ten Dharmic Activities, being vegetarians, not selling the Dharma etc.. |

WISH-GRANTING PRAYER OF SAMANTABHADRA -part 1
WISH-GRANTING PRAYER OF SAMANTABHADRA -part 1- (Tib. Kunsang Gongpa Zhangtal) is 24. VISUAL DHARMA published for the wellfare of all sentient beings. It was prepared over the period of many years (2002-2005-2008). All Visual Dharmas are empowered with the Sound of Dharmata practice. They contain sacred Buddhist images, symbols and texts . Therefore they must be treated with respect. VISUAL DHARMAS can be embeded on all beneficial sites. Those who embed them must respect Buddhist ethics. General information are given in THE GIFT OF TRUTH. Embeding VISUAL DHARMAS means to perform 1st of 10. Dharmic Activities as taught by the Buddhas -- copying Buddhist scriptures and teachings for free distribution. This means to accumulate merit and consequently Wisdom. Playing VISUAL DHARMAS at your site will bring great positive energy to the place and all who hear/see them . INTRODUCTION : According to our research , study and practice is Wish-granting prayer of Samantabhadra one of the highly respected prayer in all lineages of Nyingma Vajrayana Buddhism. The KEY word is : Zhangtal or Direct transference into the dinamic of Kuntuzangpo/Samantabhadra Adi Buddha. Different authors give different explanation about the meaning of Zhangtal, according to their level of understanding. Some of them are listed in selected bibliography. To have the experience of the Direct transference into the dinamic of Kuntuzangpo one must first obtain Refuge in the Guru-Dewa-Dakini (Three roots), one must keep Buddhist ethical precepts, one must be a Bodhisattva who is working for the wellfare of all beings, one must have transmission of this Prayer from a qualified Buddhist Master. Kunsang Gongpa Zhangtal is part of the Northern Treasure lineage of Nyingma Vajrayana Buddhism . This secret treasure (tib. terma) was discovered by Rigdzin Godem (1337-1408) who is one of three tertön (tresure revealers) kings of ancient Tibet. These old termas (tib. nying-ter) need special attention and continuation of practice in third millenium. The author of Kunsang Gongpa Zhangtal is Buddha Padmasambhava who is one of the lineage holders of Atiyoga/Dzogchen (see Visual Dharma: Teaching about Seven-line Invocation ) . To have experience of Direct transference into the dinamic of Kuntuzangpo one must also have strong faith and devotion to Guru Rinpoche who IS Samantabhadra. The meditator visualises oneself as shining blue Samantabhadra during the recitation of the Prayer. Dzogchen Khenpo Chöga wrote in one of his poems : „You are Samantabhadra and Samantabhadra is nobody else as you..." After the meditator have such confidence (tib. deng) of natural state of Dharmakaya he/she can truly reafirm that Kunsang Gongpa Zhangtal is the most profound Prayer in Buddhist presence and history! Intelectual study of Samantabhadra´s Wish-granting Prayer is important but more important is to regularly practice / recite it with awareness. One will obtain more and more insights and experieneces of the natural state of Dharmakaya. Ignorance (tib.marigpa) will be purified. Benefits of this Buddhist Prayer which contain strong blessing power are immeasurable. As it is said in the colophon : „All sentient beings who will hear it will in three lifetimes realise Enlightenment." With our concepts we often try to limit the blessings of this wonderful Prayer only to human beings. But the Blessing power is not limited at all : animals, hungry ghosts, beings of hell , asuras and gods along with humans will benefit from Samantabhadra´s wish-granting Prayer. As one Buddhist master humoriously said : „You don´t have any chance but to become enlightened." Sooner or later. In the Atiyoga/Dzogchen Teachings and practice there are teachings related to the view, path and result. Kunsang Gongpa Zhangtal contains heart instruction about all of them . First verses introduce the view of Atiyoga. Longer middle part describes six realms of samsara and the potential to develop or awaken five primordial wisdoms. Last verses introduce the result. Therefore is the Wish-granting Prayer of Samantabhadra such perfect and complete prayer. Eight perfection (Skt. paramita) on the gradual path of Bodhisattva is the perfection of prayer, corresponding to the eight level of Bodhisattva (Skt. Arya Bodhisattva, tib. phag-pa, noble or sublime Bodhisattva). If one diligently and devotedly practice perfect Prayer of Samantabhadra along with other seven perfections during one´s lifetime one will become Bodhisattva liberated from samsara .See Visual Dharma: Kunkhyen Longchenpa: Six perfections. LONGCHENPA: SIX PERFECTIONS
LONGCHENPA : SIX PERFECTIONS Visual Dharma 5,6,7 is published to benefit all beings and to mark the Anniversary of Longchen Rabjam (January 25, 2008). Longchen Rabjampa (1308-1363 A.D.) is one of the most brilliant scholars and masters of Nyingma Vajrayana Buddhism. He was born into this world as the emanation of Manjushri-Buddha of Wisdom. Therefore he is presented with the attributes of Manjushri: with sacred text/Prajnaparamita and with the Sword of Wisdom/discriminative awareness. Other meditational deities also blessed him, such as Sarasvati, Acala and Vajravarahi. Longchenpa was endowed with unobstructed intelligence and fearless brilliance. His religious-Buddhist title: Longchen Rabjam means „Extensively learned One who is like Vast Space". After studying at glorious Samye monastery in central Tibet he lived in solitude. Later he also travelled around, teaching many beings. His root-guru (Tib. Tsawai Lama) was an awareness holder (Tib. Rig-dzin) Kumaradza (Skt. Kumararaja). He was an emanation of Atiyoga master Vimalamitra and also had no fixed home. Longchen Rabjampa wrote very many precious Dharma texts like The Seven Great Treasures etc.. Unfortunately many of His Dharma texts were lost in previous centuries and only very few are translated into English. Longchenpa was the Lineage holder of Innermost Spirituality of Vimalamitra/Vima Nyingthig and Innermost Spirituality of the Dakini/Khandro Nyingthig. He wrote many sublime commentaries on these two very important Nyingma Vajrayana Buddhist Lineages and promoted them with personal practice, retreats and public Teachings. All-knowing Longchenpa met Nirmanakaya Buddha Padmasambhava and Yeshe Tshogyal in pure visions, when he practiced Tsog offerings (Skt. Ganachakra). Guru Rinpoche gave him the name Drimed Ödser -- Stainless rays of the sun...Longchen Rabjam passed away after 25 days in constant meditation on 18th day of 12th lunar month. In later centuries he reappeared in pure visions to Master Jigme Lingpa (1730-1798) and blessed him with understanding of all his Dharma works. Jigme Lingpa condensed the Teachings of All-knowing Lonchenpa into Longchen Nyingthig lineage/Innermost Spirituality of Longchenpa. In previous century there was an emanation of All-knowing Longchenpa , namely Master Drimed Ödser, the son of Tertön Dudjom Lingpa. Drimed Ödser accomplished the Rainbow Body (1924). His present emanation is Dungse Thinley Norbu Rinpoche (born 1931), great scholar and Master of Khandro Nyingthig lineage of Nyingma Vajrayana Buddhism. At the International Institute for Contemporary Buddhist Studies we selected a Verse of Teaching from Sem-nyid Ngal-gso. It belongs to the Three cycles of relaxation in Natural state (Tib. ngal-so kor-sum). GENEROSITY,DISCIPLINE,PATIENCE,DILIGENCE,CONCENTRATION and INTELLIGENCE are six perfections (Skt. Paramita) included in Mahayana Buddhist Teachings. A Bodhisattva (Tib. Chang-chub sempa) attains enjoyment through generosity, happiness through discipline, beauty through patience, splendour through diligence, peace of mind through concentration and freedom through intelligence. It is most obvious that development of six perfections is crucial for every human being. Nowdays many teachers, polititians, movie stars etc.. speak about peace, positive thinking etc.. But All-knowing Longchenpa showed the Buddha Path by actively practicing what he has taught. There was no distance between his thinking, speech and actions ! Only enlightened beings has such unique qualities as Kunkhyen Longchenpa who used to say : „You must have reverence for the Precious Jewels (i.e. Buddha, Dharma, Sangha), not for sinful persons." May everyone reach freedom by relying on the sublime Teachings of Longchenpa whose Innermost secret instruction is : „As it does not rely on words, it does not depend on (intellectual) wisdom. As it realises the nature directly, it does not dwell in the view of mental analysis." The aim of this Visual Dharma is that every viewer realises the buddha-nature directly. To show that His teachings are truly timeless and for all beings, including modern people of third millenium, we selected different music : Händel/Queen of Sheba, contemporary music and Vivaldi/Four seasons. PADA: SELF-ARISEN FOOTPRINTS by H.E. TARA TULKU RINPOCHE Homage to Buddha Padmasambhava * Visual Dharma 85 (2007) is published to benefit all beings vast as the sky. To EMBED & to SPONSOR preparation of Visual Dharmas means to perform 1st Dharmic Activity as taught by the Buddhas (see The Gift of Truth). Our Visual Dharmas were already embeded by hundreds of other sites, including mobile phones & tv. PADA : in 1st centuries after the mahaparinirvana of Shakyamuni Buddha , the Completely enlightened One was not represented by statues or paintings of His Body. His presence was indicated by Buddhapada-his Footprints. Buddhist practitioners of ancient times understood that true worship of the Buddha means to follow on His footsteps. As Lord Buddha said himself : „I show you the Path, but you must walk on it." Regarding His footsteps it is also written : „As soon as he was born, the Bodhisattva took seven steps in each of the four directions, in order to show that he was about to embark upon the path of four immeasurables. It is said that lotus blossoms offered by the gods sprung from His FOOTPRINTS and shone brilliantly." (1) Lord Buddha also left His footprint on the island Sri Lanka. „In a dense forest called Kandala, in NE, there is a cavern which houses ŠRIPADUKA, an enormuous footprint of the Buddha." (2) The word Pada is part of Dharma names of different Buddhist masters, such as Buddhajnanapada. He was the master in Nyingma Vajrayana Atiyoga lineage of Buddhism and close disciple of Manjushrimitra. Enlightened Buddhist masters like Guru Padmasambhava, Wisdom Dakini Yeshe Tshogyal etc. left their footprints and handprints in sacred places of Bhutan, Tibet and elsewhere . The footprints of Gyalwa Karmapa are treasured at Tsurphu monastery in central Tibet (3). As it is written: „To induce faith in future generations, the guru and his consort left behind countless wonderful signs, such as handprints and footprints in all the places of attainment." (4) Such are the imprints of His body at Dorje Tsekpa in Bhumtang (Bhutan), the handprint at Namtso Chukmo, and the footprint on the White rock in Paro. Tulku Thondup made research about 4 rocky mountains. „Guru Padmasambhava left his footprints on the four rocks, as if on mud, to become objects of homage." (5) In Atiyoga the meaning of Pada(Seal) is the WORD initiation. It belong to Wordless doctrine. It is utterly simple , direct - efficient awakening of our innate Buddha nature, hearable as Sound of Dharmata (tib. Chönyid kyi rangdra). The essence of Dharmata´s Light is self-liberated Sound. Light & Sound of Dharmata are unseparable but Sound can be more continuously practiced. Why ? It is unimpeded continuity, belonging to purified Space element. Word initiation is 4th Empowerment in Atiyoga when meditator can begin with precious Todgal practice. According to my reasearch, practice and teachings: Sound of Dharmata is 1st Vision of Todgal / direct crossing . It is actualy Sound-Vision. Completely realised Atiyoga masters who accomplished the Rainbow Body in 20. century such as Rigdzin Changchub Dorje and Ayu Khandro (1839-1953) would certainly aggree. With every generation there is less & less knowledge (jnana-wisdom) about the Sound of Dharmata. I came back to this world to uphold this endangered Atiyoga essence lineage. Teachings of terton/hidden treasure discoverer Ratna Lingpa are intertwinned in this Visual Dharma. „ Guru Rinpoche also said : In the defiled age the teaching´s limits will be preserved by treasures. Accordingly, until the teachings of the Fifth Guide (Maitreya) arises, the activity of the profound treasures will never decline." (6) Photo of recently discovered PADA was sent as a Dharma Gift to Dungse Thinley Norbu Rinpoche, Grand Master Sheng-yen Lu, XIV. Dalai Lama, Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche, Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche etc..
