The Virginia Military Institute's Corps of Cadets honors the 10 cadets who fell on the New Market, Virginia battlefield during the Civil War. It marked the only time in US history that a student body fought together in combat. Of the six senior military colleges and four service academies, VMI is the only school afforded the honor of fixing bayonets during parade, due to the corps' actions at New Market. The Keydets come to UR Stadium to face the FCS #1 ranked Spiders standing at 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the CAA South. UR will be heavily favored to win, but long time Spider watchers including Coach London, who was only 1-3 against the Keydets during his playing career, know that they will come into the game with a fighting attitude. The fearless Spider Gang forecasters all pick the Spiders to win easily.
