Scientific Verification of Vedic Knowledge in Hinduism - 1
A vast number of statements and materials presented in the ancient Vedic literatures can be shown to agree with modern scientific findings and they also reveal a highly developed scientific content in these literatures. The great cultural wealth of this knowledge is highly relevant in the modern world. Techniques used to show this agreement include: Marine Archaeology of underwater sites (such as Dvaraka) Satellite imagery of the Indus-Sarasvata River system Carbon and Thermoluminiscence Dating of archaeological artifacts Scientific Verification of Scriptural statements Linguistic analysis of scripts found on archaeological artifacts A Study of cultural continuity in all these categories. http://devavision.org/videos.html |

Indian Vedic Rock: Agnee (Agni) - Mrityunjaya - Tandav
The band Agni is one of the founders of the modern Indian Rock Music scene. This song is "Tandav" from the album "Mrityunyaja" (2002). The album could be considered to be one of the forerunners of Vedic Metal, with its Sanskrit lyrics, religious themes and the amazing fusion of Indian and Western music. It is a very rare CD. edit!- I've been told that the band members have released all their old music for free! It can be downloaded at: http://72hoytstreet.net/music/agni/ The band has now evolved into an entirely new one, called 'Agnee'. Please check out their website at: http://agnee.in/ Check out their website at: http://www.indiasoft.co.in/agni/default.asp Thanks to osakamuraya who uploaded this video first and gave permission to me to upload it! :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ddDnS188vuc ------==-==--==------ About the song: Tandav is a salutation to Lord Shiva and begins with a prayer to the magnificent Shiva from the Rudra. The song is a humble tribute from a mortal man to the Eternal One who is the creator, sustainer and destroyer. The video was shot in Chennai with some indoor sets with South Indian professional dancers involved. The video basically depicts the Invoking of Shiva and settling back towards the end, in peace. ------==-==--==------ "Tandav" Lyrics: Om sahana vavatu Sahanau bhunaktu Sahaviryam karvava hai Tejas vina vadhi tamastu Bhavid vishava hai Om, namoh, namah Shivayah Rudra-rupa, Mahadeva, Jatadhaari Shankara Satya Rachita, Neelkantha, Pralaydaataa Ishwara Rudra-rupa, Mahadeva, Jatadhaari Shankara Satya Rachita, Neelkantha, Pralaydaataa Ishwara Laya se tere jug hai yeh jaagaa Bhay mein tere asur man kapaa Rudra rupa, Mahadeva, Jatadhaari Shankara Satya Rachita, Neelkantha, Pralaydaataa Ishwara Laya se tere jaga hai yeh jaagaa Bhay mein tere asur man kapaa Lord Destroyer, I'm on fire, help me O Maheshwara Raise the foot and set the Trident, talk to me my Shankara Chanting your name, Moksha I can find Slays all evil, gaze of your third eye Om sahana vavatu Sahanau bhunaktu Sahviryam karvava hai Tejas vina vadhi tamastu Bhavid vishava hai Om, namoh, namah Shivayah -------==--=--==------- **NOTE** This producers of this video have given permission for it to be freely distributed amongst fans! Vedic Astrology: Michael Shermer vs Jeffrey Armstrong
In a scenario set up to debunk astrology, Jeffrey Armstrong completely outshines Michael Shermer in a way that any scientist should say is "statistically interesting." The SCENARIO: Jeffrey reads NINE charts in about TWENTY minutes. Most charts are usually given an hour of study each. EXPERIMENT I: face-to-face reading with a skeptic. The subject, afterwards, said Jeffrey's reading "officially blew me away." EXPERIMENT II: Nine "blind" readings. Results: 105 of 137—or 77%—of Jeffrey's statements deemed accurate, ALL scores 63% or over, high of 89%. EXPERIMENT III: The kicker. Two of the nine, unbeknownst to Jeffrey or the subjects, have their charts switched. Accuracy rating drops to 38 and 21% respectively. Switched back to true charts, accuracy goes to 94 and 92%. |
